I agree with you dk, that's why I have slowly started making my way over here from e30tech.

+1. I post less and less there. the fact that chris flooded the place with ads and doesn't show his face is pretty gay.

and I hear ya dk. must be frustrating.

Yep, common e30tech'er here. Trying to make it over to r3v, but everytime i get on e30tech i have to post on an argument, get mad and close the internet.

There is really some valuable people over there. iXer, Bimmerjim posted a few times last night, peerless, and white325is. I don't talk much with the turbo guys, mostly N/A because i am building a stroker. But by the talk of local e30 turbo's iXer is a god.

Honestly i am up for anything, moving to r3v or maybe find a way to get on both(very hard because r3v is usually my second stop that i never get to).

I guess i will start reading up on the posts that i have missed lately, and maybe create my project thread over here, not sure it took a lot of effort finding all the pictures...

And the fact of the matter is the West Coast is reppin' from the r3v side. I am at the tech because I love the turbo sections... but I am really getting sick of these 16 year old kids with 250k mile etas that want to turbo their cars for 800 dollars..

even in spite of those it's embarrassing.
hmm. I have firefox. need adblock now. That's really fucking annoying.

And yeah, I like the fact that many members here are in the PNW and cali.

once you have adblock in from the firefox site, make sure you download the filterset.g list. it'll save you a lot of "i don't want to see this, right click and block" because the ad servers are already there.

What ads does it block? (I know Firefox blocks pop ups) Does this take out banner ads?

yeah, adblock and filterset.g are pretty much exclusively aimed at banner ads and other in-page content (because as you mention, firefox is already pretty good at handling pop-ups).

filterset.g removes 90% of the banners you'll run across on the internets.

adblock still works without the extension i linked, but every time you run across something you don't want to see you'll have to right-click and block it manually. and that gets old. filterset.g saves a whole lot of that kind of trouble, and has never blocked anything i actually wanted to see.

i wouldn't recommend it if i had any misgivings whatsoever- give it a shot, and if it fucks something up for you, you can remove it from Tools:Add-Ons.

pm me if you want further advice, but i'm done for the night, and honestly, i'm probably going to take a break from the e30 community in general until i have a car again. i hate to say it, but nothing good came of me becoming a mod on e30tech; it just resulted in a shitload of annoyance, frustration, and babysitting on my part. i'll be back around when i have something that goes "vroom vroom" again.

the above two cleaned up e30tech and made it look _almost_ like it did 4 years ago.

ah DK you're a good guy. I dunno if you remember but I met you once when we were either taking apart or rebuilding Pettas's car. I think that was the day we also did your tranny and engine mounts. My car was all stock then lol(hardly anymore) It's just too bad that there are so many retards on the tech, which is why I converted over to r3v because the retards get banned. But I've always liked you and Dom as moderators over there. Both of you are pretty knowledgable guys and Dom definitely has one of the cleanest AW e30's around. It's just too bad that Chris has become so vacant as of late...

heh... forgot to turn thread subscription off. i blame Icehouse.

george: i'll let Nomad's post speak to how well it works.

steveo: i saw "mesa" and a red 4-banger iS and wondered if that was you. car's looking good; & given that even back then it was a dead heat w/ my 325is down the frontage road next to the freeway, i bet it's fun now. i hope life's been treating you well, & thanks.

                            nomad: lol. you're welcome :)

e30tech is really fucked now, unless he just moved everything off the server.
