I've seen that park in a skate vid before.

OK - so I've been on a hunt for an old road bike to convert and I've had no luck. I almost bought a bianchi pista today but I hate spending that kinda money on something I've never tried.

I know this may not be a great idea - but I found this on ebay today:

I figure it can't be a worse start for me than a 70's road bike. Plus, I have like $150 in ebay gift cards so it will cost me $150 out of pocket shipped.

                  What do you guys think?

I know it's probably not great - but for $150 shipped it can't be that bad.

I almost bought one of those, and a friend of mine did. For a first bike, they're just fine. They're a good frame, they have good rims, and are decent bike out of the box. The good thing is that it's a decent frame, so you can just upgrade stuff as you go along. I rode it around for a while, it doesn't feel any different than my Windsor. I would reccomend you get that one.

Don't know if this one has been posted yet, but the speeds this guy hits scare the shit out of me!

so i've been thinking about getting myself a decent entry level road bike for a few years now. my riding history is mainly bmx (still riding) and some mtn biking (every now and again) but i am fairly certain i will get tons of use out of a road bike. i just don't know jack about them!!

so my local shop has carried GIANT for awhile now and they look pretty decent, i was interested in this model:

                            GIANT TCR A1:

"Riders get maximum power-to-pedal transfer with the ultra-stiff yet vertically compliant TCR Alliance series - the perfect blend of composite and aluminum.

                            FRAME TECHNOLOGY
Giant’s proprietary Alliance frame technology takes advantage of the performance benefits of both aluminum and composite. Through careful, seamless integration of these two materials, riders of all levels can reap the benefits of increased comfort and performance from this unique blend.

                            FEATURES
                            # 10-speed Shimano 105 componentry
                            # Shimano M520 clipless pedals
                            # Lightweight Xero XSR-3 wheelset"

what do you guys think? what else would you recommend? thanks!!
