Kid slashes tires on my wifes 740iL, along with numerous other cars/trucks in the neighborhood. Approximately $4500 total damage (felony vandalism). His friends turn him in, kid denies it, cops don't press charges, everything fucked out of money. Cops won't release his info because he is a minor, with a record of prior similar offenses. (waste of human skin)

i had a 2008 chevy quad cab and a 2007 tandum axle dove tail trailer stolen right in front of my house. the most helpful person was the lady that picked up the phone when i first called them in stolen.

after that, i delt with those pos cops. i could tell they thought it was an insurance job, fuck them. they found the rig 30 days later, stripped, 300 miles away.

fortunately, i had just taken my e30 m3 off of the trailer.

but yeah, those cops should have been placed in front of jordon's speeding bus.

horrific audio, wasn't able to hear much of what was said. however, here are my observations.

one of the most dangerous places for police officers to be is standing at your fucking window. why? people driving see the pretty blue lights and start staring over there. then what happens? they absent-mindedly start steering towards them. So I don't have time to debate with you on the side of the fucking road. That's what the goddamn court date is for.

Two, the tape jumped until the officer was making his return to the vehicle with the summons. He may not have run the driver and vehicle info automatically, it's pretty much officer discretion if they choose to do that or not. Next, it appeared the officer did not explain the consequences of not signing the summons - that it was not an admission of guilt and he would be taken into custody and brought before a magistrate if he refused to sign.

Next, if you have a person outside the car on the side of the road, someone you don't know from adam, and he jams his fucking hands in his pockets and starts walking away, that's a problem. Especially if the officer just told you to turn around and put your hands behind your back. He could be grabbing a weapon, could be he's trying to flee, could be that's just a natural posture for him. The officer had no idea what the fucking guy's intentions were. The wife is lucky she didn't get shot. I saw the car door open and thought "oh fuck, this is not going to end well." The guy trying to walk away after being told to turn around and put his hands behind his back justifies the use of force.

Again, as stated earlier Miranda only applies to questioning.

I don't know if the officer ever told the guy how fast he was going. Someone earlier said 48/40. well, that's still speeding. State/local laws vary, but that 100 ft rule may not be the case in your area. It may just be the plane of the sign.

I had an experience with a (probably drunk) fucktard trying to run me off the road and going up in the grass on an exit only to fly back onto the highway and nearly hit like 4 people.

I called it in and the cops met me at my destination. Said they didnt need the plate # because 20 other people called it in but that they couldnt do anything because it was a company vehicle and they wouldnt be able to find the guy (despite me giving them a pretty complete description including his shitty tat on his arm).

Cops dont do anything a fucking clerk can do, take a statement and write a report.

And dont even start on highway patrol. Those are the most worthless motherfuckers around. I have yet to see one helping a stranded motorist. The closest thing I have seen is them working and accident. And by working an accident I mean 15 cars, all running, with patrolmen in them. It doesnt take 15 of the fuckers to lay out some flares and wait for a tow truck.

I've also personally called in numerous drunk drivers on the road, and given the dispatcher a play by play for up to half an hour before the drunk:

Crashes into another car
Runs off the road and crashes into nature
etc

Only one time have I actually seen a cop respond in a reasonable amount of time (less than half an hour) and pull the drunk driver over and haul him off.

Or how about one of my old neighbors, who was making/selling meth out of her house. Several cars an hour all day long would drive up, and either she walked out and gave them something or they ran in for 30 seconds and drove off.

I recored plate numbers, took photographs of buyers, even had evidence taken from her trash. Cops didn't care. Oh did I mention she lived off welfare? IE you and I were paying for her drug trafficking.

You can give the cops the sweetest evidence on a silver plater, but you can't make them pull their thumbs out of their ass to take it if it doesn't involve departmental revenue.

I guess nobody has ever seen the videos of the people who instantly snap and attack an officer - who start off with an attitude just like this guy, where they think they are above the law. If you are a cop, and you know this person who is fully disobeying your instructions, could pull a weapon at any point, are you going to stand there and let it happen? No, you're not.

If you don't sign your ticket, you get arrested. If you resist arrest, you get physically harmed, like every other fucking idiot in the cop videos. There's a line marked "Not Guilty". Fucking sign it.

actually, that line that says "not guilty" - they always cross out and you are not allowed to sign there, atleast in colorado. i once was pulled over up in the mountains by an officer because a random citizen called in and said that i recklessly passed them when there was oncoming traffic (one lane each way). i told them i was not going to sign the ticket on the line which admits guilt because i did nothing wrong, they told me i either sign it or they'd put me "in the cuffs and take my ass back to their station where we can sit and have a talk till" i decided to sign it.

i eventually went to court (i had to take time out of my schedule to go to court three times) and at the 3rd hearing the citizen who alleged that i committed some kind of crime was called in to testify. i didn't have a lawyer, i just represented myself and the judge threw the case out. no fine, no court costs, nothing..... just wasted multiple hours of my life


it was a prime example of how fucked up the enforcement system has become. cops should have fewer rights. they should have always had fewer then they did too. fucking bureaucracy



cops should have tazers but not guns... or even better yet should be limited to just billyclubs.... or maybe .... ... ... ... ...

oh, and FYI: the judge said that writing tickets on anonymous call in tips and preforming traffic stops because of nancy little do-gooders is regular department practice. mainly because of drunk drivers.... in this situation it was just some waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles who got their pantys in a bunch

the kid said he was going 48 and he didnt reach the 40 sign yet. the officer did not say how fast he was going. Note also that the cop pulled over to let the kid pass then pulled him over. in the police report the cop stated that he tazered the kid again while he was down on the ground. The kid was stupid to walk away and put his hands in his pockets. i know that if there is any problem, in the state of Utah an officer automatically requests for back-up. Note he did not do that.
I say fouls on both sides yet my opinion is that the officer had a bad additude to begin with and may have started it. The kid was not so coaperational either....

I'm not unsympathetic to your problem (not that you're looking for sympathy) but bear with me here. The people who did that need to be educated through physical harm why that's not ok to do. Unfortunately, that's not likely to happen.

I agree that property crime is a problem, but that is just one component of the job that, like it or not, is just not prioritized.

Sadly, I think EPD might actually be more interested in the situations you bring up than figuring out why the transgendered hooker on 6th and Blair has a needle stuck in it's arm and is making a feeble attempt at solicitation while brandishing something that looks like a firearm.
