the "original" (if this movie resembles the Omega Man at all) was not a high point in cinema history. It was cool and all (yay chuck heston), but if you want post-apocalyptic bliss, rent the Quiet Earth

when i worked at stuttgart southwest i restored a late 912E (the 4 cyl one). i was there for over a year, since it was done as the customer paid us, so i named it soylent green because it was a nasty light metalic green. we (there was only 4 of us total ) used to drive it and yell "soylent green it made out of people!!"

I really liked it. Hollywood will always remake movies, not comparing it to another movie it was good. Good not great. The ending was made more storybook and happy from the book from what I hear, but that can be expected.

Go see Juno by the way. Saw it last night and it has many laughs plus it's basically the teen in high school version of knocked up. Very well done.

It follows the typical Hollywood formula where more time and effort is put into the CG and special effects than the content of the movie. Obviously that seems to be working these days with the popularity of some questionable movies but, for those looking for more story and less explosions it leaves something to be desired.
