My day wasn't too bad. Spilled some Gatorade on my shirt, but it should wash out.

Trust me, I thought about it. I don't really have anything I can sell off of it though, without making it undriveable.

That sucks hard ass! WTF is wrong with people!
My day on the other hand was shitty too. Woke up to a call from my sis saying my Dad is in the hospital. About 20 hours into it and 2 litres of green goo sucked out of his stomach through a tube in his nose they move him from the ER and into a room. He now has to have a CAT scan in the morning and then surgery to remove whatever it is that is blocking his bowels! So I'm stressed and worrying about what they will find. I need a drink!

Sucks about the tools - I know how expensive and hard to replace some of the specialized wire stripper and crimpers for cabling stuff can be.

I sure there was a tool or two in there you will someday be glad to never see again(look on the bright side?) - but it sucks when you loose that favorite tool - that one that makes your life so much easier.

One man should not steal another mans tools - that is just wrong. It's like taking food off his family's plate.

Sorry to hear that Josh. I used to be in that line of work and I became pretty attached to the tools that I made my living with. Just an FYI, I had about $3500 worth of hockey (goalie) equipment stolen out of the back of my pickup at a convenience store, and my homeowners insurance covered the whole thing. Something about coverage for my personal property while in transit. Check it out...

Man that's a shame Josh but you for one should know better than leaving your tools unsecured.

Shop around at pawn shops for some used tools.

It might sound like crap. but file a report & if you can remember / still have any model-serial # info about your drill, use it as a flag in case all the local pawns take in a drill - call the closest one & see if your neighbors are that stupid.

Do you suspect your neighbors would keep & use or sell your drill?

At least you can use this opp to try & go 18v & Klein if your boss coughs up some help - what' his thoughts so far on this? He can't expect business to make $$ if his guys don't have tools....

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

wow, i live in germany where theft is almost nonexistent in these parts, but dang, I would still NEVER leave anything in the bed of my truck that wasnt bolted down.

sux. I feel for you josh, I hate thieves!!!!

When our cleaning lady was stealing from us, my wife went to a pawn shop that was a couple of blocks from where the bitch lived. Guess what? Right ther in the case, her stuff.

She called the detective, and when he got there, the owner of the store pulled the pawn tickets (Most states require pawn shops to keep detailed records on who sells them stuff) and BINGO! They then proceeded to pull all of the tickets with our cleaning lady's name on them, and it turned out that she went in and sold at least one or two pieces of jewlery and other items (DVDs, a portable stereo we had not noticed missing) literally every wednesday (the day she cleaned our house) from the day we had hired her. Unfortunately, a lot of the jewlery had already been sold by the pawn shop. As it turned out, we had first discovered some items missing when my wife and I were going out for Valentine's Day. And alot of what the pawn shop had take in from our theiving bitch was sold in the days before that.

                          SOooooooooooooo . . .

My point is, check out the local pawn shops. You might find some stuff. Also keep an eye on craigslist.

EDIT: Good news on our story is, what they got at the pawn shop convinced our cops (who have very little to do in this town) to set up some hidden camers in our house and stake out when the cleaning lady came again. Got her on video and caught her driving away with more of our stuff. She wound up pleading out to felony theft and has been paying restitution in dribs and drabs (50-100 a month) for the past 3 years. Still owes more, but she does usually pay something monthly.

Man you guys think you have it bad?? Look what happened to me. I parked my mazda one night, some homeless dude broke into it (it was unlocked, and homeless people lived in the area) He rifled through my glove box SPILLING ALL THE CONTENTS OF IT on the floor. Then he STOLE my 1/2 bottle of 2 day old gatoraid! AND he got an empty can of axe body spray!! But he did jack my keyring for work.... that kinda sucked to explain.

But seriously, that sucks man. Will homeowners insurance or anything cover it?

Oh btw, I won $24 at the casino last night, so I woke up happy today. I'm sure I will find a reason to be pissed off soon enough though.

Yup, that's what I'm saying to Josh about just checking the closest shop to the house. Criminals aren't known for being Rhode Scholars, so you don't normally have to chase them too far to figure out what happened.

If you have a legit owner/pawnshop, they have a 90 day holding period for pawned goods,30 or 45 day on sold goods so the 5-0 has a chance to recover hot stuff. At least that's WA - You might have the same in OR Josh, maybe the same in KY for Dave too - IDK.

I got jacked once when I was living with some buddies - our lake house got hit GOOD (more than $50 item = gone) & ended up the kids (friends' younger brother & wigger buddies) were dumb enough to pawn all our CD's with all our names in permanent marker in them to keep them sorted!! Idiots! (CD's were still were worth $$ in early 90's), so they got caught & we even made out since my buddy claimed his rack stereo for twice the dollar value, etc on a few other items. I think I broke even, but it was still a huge pain. We even took that little kid out wakeboarding/jetski & this was how he repaid us. Eff him for life - actually he knocked up some chick @ 20, so he got his Karma.

Thieves are the lowest of the low. Hope something works out for you Josh, that's lame.

At least you should have good car Karma for at least the next 6 months.

I've already called the police report in to all the local pawn shops, so they'll let me know if anything turns up.

Unfortunately, I don't own my house, so I don't have homeowner's insurance. I wonder if my landlord does. He's the coolest landlord I've ever had.
