Oh man, there's this kid in this white E36 that rolls around our town, has ebay headlights, fog lights, etc., steel wheels with hubcaps, and no exhaust on it, no muffler, cats, no nothing.

Couple guys I know pull into my parking lot at the store in E36 M3s, one with a brand new exhaust... I give him the universal "rev it up" hand motion and he does so. The other guy by this time has noticed and has come flying out of the store only to run to his car, hop in it, crank it up, and bang it off the rev limiter making the most god-awful racket. He gets back out and says "They ain't got shit, they think their shit's LOUD" and stands there looking at me with that "Ya know what I mean?" look.

I just shook my head and walked away.

          I hate that shit.

im constsantly arguing with kids at school about cai, they will stick an oversized pipe and a massive air filter any where they can fit it with no heat shield or know where near anyplace where cooled air goes, it sort of makes me mad

Yes. Everyday. From the new guy I'm training at my job.

All I've heard for the last week and a half is about the automatic 240 he's getting in a few weeks, and about how he's going to slam it on Tein coilovers, take out the backseats, put a cage in it, do a 5 speed conversion, and be a drifter. He's an alright guy, and not a total ricer, but he's got a lot of backward-ass ideas that are pretty fucking stupid. I'm trying to be nice though, so I just smile and nod, and try to correct him where I can without coming off like a jerk.

                      That is good.

Honestly, one of my favorite things to do is follow guys in rice rockets through on/off ramps in the x5 and ride their ass. The x5 with 19in. wheels, good toyo's with 3 somethings in the back (yes, wider in back than front for the muppets) actually handles very well for how big it is - at least well enough to handle those things on the corners with the lesser skilled drivers. Riding them in the corners and hearing the ricers exhaust make a shit load of noise trying to go faster and get away is pretty entertaining on their bad lines. What's better - the 4.4 actually hauls a pretty decent amount of ass and if I get on it (if you've driven one, you know this is actually true), I can usually pass any basic rice rocket with the standard ricer mods (can't catch most of the VW's in the area though)... the look on their face as I pass them with their loud ass exhaust wailing away is pretty effing entertaining.

Yes, I know, I need to get my m3 back on the road and stop living vicariously through the x5 - or just supercharge it :)

I hear ya on that one. I LOVE the E70 4.8iS with the sport wheels/tires. Its even better with ARS. Those things handle better than most cars, and I'll admit my e30.

no lie, it handles way, way better than many of the e30's I've driven. and I would almost guarante it's faster in a straight line.

Had a bit of that fun a few weeks ago. Ricer in an VTAK! Integra (red wheels, slammed, fart cannon, etc) got ticked off that I passed him at a previous stop light so he got next to me and revved at the next one. I thought he was joking so I didn't get on full throttle at first so his rear bumper was at my front by the time I was on it. I held even until about 50 when I started reeling him in. At the next light he and his girl wouldn't even look over. Oh yeah, I was driving my wife's Saturn Vue at the time. It's no lightweight, but the 255hp V6 was enough to humiliate a kid in what he thought was a fast car!
