You would think the whole ricer thing would be over about 10 years ago...I can't believe I still see cars with unpainted body kits, or supra style wings (I saw one the other day and it was on a 4 door Camry WTFyo)... or damn lexus GS series trunk lights on other make/model cars. Jees.

I've outrun ricers in my wife's new Toyota Sienna more times than I can count. There's nothing more satisfying than picturing them seeing Elmo on the rear entertainment while they're getting worked by a mommy-mobile. We still have plenty of them out here in the IE, so I get lots of chances.

By the way, my wife outran me in our 325is, so I know a little about what seeing Elmo pull on you is all about. ;)

True enough. It should also be an indicator to anyone who thinks a 325is is fast that it isn't, at least to ~70. She pulled me by 3 van-lengths with my 17 month old daughter watching Elmo's World in the back seat.

True. I got smoked by a Ram 1500 Hemi in my 325is. I got on it from a stop light and pulled ahead of him but then I could hear him nail it. Smoked me pretty good.

My buddy smoked my 318is in his dad's GMC Envoy once upon a time. :)

Oh god, we got a new kid at school this semester that is just unreal. He LOVES cavaliers with a passion, he honestly has about 8 of them. At first I was like ok, whatever, he likes a junk car. But I can't help and laugh, he has this one its like a 97 or so. HUGE ASS UGLY BODYKIT, not painted, bondo ALL OVER, there has to be atleast 50lbs of that crap. Its not even sanded down straight, theres chunks hanging off all over. Hes got the fleabay "race" seats, A Pillar complete with useless gauges, and everything inside spray painted red, and of course 1/2 the paint it flaked off.

The big laugh was when we compression tested the engine, the best cylinder had about 100psi. The other 3 were between 60-80. Oh but don't worry, his CAI gave him 15hp.

I wish I had a picture, heres the best part. He told me he wants to sell it, and is asking 9 FUCKING GRAND. WOW.... that car is worth $500 TOPS.

Every one of his cars has a CAI. I also get in debates about that crap all the time, about how its worthless. And he keeps asking me how my "coil overs" are treating me. I have told him about 280917398127983712 times I DIDN'T FUCKING INSTALL COILOVERS. Guy is just dense as hell.

My one buddy in my class has some questionable choices with his cars. But he knows that 1/2 the crap honda guys do is retarded. Like he just got a 95 civic for $500, and a new motor for it for $200 (the original was blown). But he put the BIGGEST can on it I have ever seen. But he takes it as a joke, he knows it doesn't do jack. He has a pretty wicked Neon SRT (its some more rare version though), its tastefully modded, and boosted to over 500hp.

IIRC there is only one SRT-4. Unless it's some unreleased ACR or something. I don't think there is any ACR's in the SRT-4 line though.

Unrelated, As soon as the shit trans/engine combo fail on me in my woman's '05 Neon, I will be swaping another mildly shit combo of the SRT-4 swap. I haven't looked into the logistics, but I assume a totaled front clip should make it happen.

It was an SRT4 ACR, thats right. He got the car and the front was smashed in. I guess his uncle is a body guy so they drilled the pinch welds off the front clip and welded on a regular neon, and stuffed the original motor back in. Body is the same he told me between the neons (maybe a different bumper, but the same structure).

Theres a tool at the detail section of our dealer, who had an E36, which he claimed he swapped an S50 into. Sold it for $3k, and bought his POS civic hatch. I figured he got ripped off since his "tricked" E36 beats E46 M3s, as he claimed lol.

i work at honda in the parts department. you tell me how many ricers come in everyday.

example 1: kid comes in, ask for oil filter for his civic hatchback. Than, ask what he parts he would need to swap in "a M3 engine" into his car.

example 2: "do you guys have 20inch spinner rims? It's for a Honda Fit.

Your answer should have been: An M3.

I am in an mechanical design class this semester, senior year we get to do something more fun. We are designing a variable valve timing system (only one cylinder) mechanism using UGNX. Anyway, the teacher has about 10 yrs experience working for Delphi and obviously knows what is going on. There is one kid in class, who over the years has had a poor track record in most classes, but he loves this class because it is car related and he "knows" engines. Almost every class he talks back to the teacher and tells him he is wrong and gets pissed off when he gets shut down, every time! I fid it quite humorous that the teacher keeps putting him in his place.

Bad story telling on my part I know, I always lose it at the "punchline"

NX5? How well do you know it.

Yes, NX5. Well I just started using it this semester so I dont know all the ins-outs, but I am pretty good with the modeling aspect so far. Right now our Nastran license is not cooperating so can't run those simulations. I play with it a lot in my free time. I was using ProE and Patran/Nastran before this. But UGNX makes it so much easier, its really nice software.
