yeah.fkng.retarted. (as is the amount of coverage it's getting! Srsly! WTF)
I think the U.S. just thought that they could really try and win a World Cup from around 1991 (right after Italia '90 when they were a team likeable to, oh say, South Korea which is to say an easy win) to 2006 and theyd have it by now. They were really pouring resources, coverage, and effort to improve the national team in the early 90's and after the '94 World Cup and they improved by leaps and bounds, very impressively. BUT I think they thought it would be easier to be included in the upper echelon of quality that is a Brasil, Argentina, England, Germany, Italy, etc. Now that they've hit a bit of a ceiling, they are back to protecting their fragile egos that they actually suck at a sport by not giving it coverage and bashing it whenever possible either indirectly or directly. These fool's thought that with 20 years of hard work, theyd be able to actually contend for a World Cup lmao. What they did do is commendable they improved a LOT to a team thats is not a pushover or a given-win.
We shall see how good the CONCACAF (Mexico) is in the Copa America...Although i'm not sure if the top dawgs are going to bring their A squads i.e., Brasil y Argentina or if they're going to play their pibes out there.
