And what's your second statement about Mexico leaving it at home vs Chile? For real? Don't be such an apologists...the better team won.

And +1 to Maluco for this gem "South America=home of the best soccer..."
oh I know a smaller team will always go in giving it all they have. colombia came out swinging and never stopped, they were running circles around argentina but come on, in the real world it'd be a pretty rare thing to see colombia "hang" with argentina.

And what I meant by the mexico vs chile thing is pretty much the same. I KNOW Chile was the better team, mexico's midfield was non-existent never getting past their own defense but again, in the real world, with Mexico's full squad it'd be pretty rare to see Chile beat them. and THAT'S why I'm not taking this whole tourney too serious.

This tournament is more of an outlier than anything else, the game's biggest south american players never fared well in this as well. So you must take this into consideration when the "winner" raises the cup.

This is the same reason why I don't make a big deal of the gold cup. Although Mexico had their better team involved in that tournament they never played Argentina, Brazil, or even (dare I say it) Uruguay which I think made a great showing in the world cup so should you take that seriously too?

that was a fkng intense half!! The haziness from the fogos, the speed and aggressiveness of play, and the constant noise makes for that badass CLASSIC clash between South American countries! That shit is CLASSIC!!!! Unlike soccer anywhere else and to ME is the definition of what a soccer match is! I FKNG LOVE THIS GAME SO FKNG MUCH!!!! And Brasil isn't even playing! South America = home of the best soccer and fans on the globe!!!

WNBA has nothing on some of the countries competing in FIFA national soccer.

although, the WNBA may 'heat' up based on the below...

shit, we haven't even brought up the Women's World Cup that's going on, right!!?? So many cups going on right now, lol. I've been watching the Women's World Cup as well and it's been damn good. Brasil's game earlier today had a badass gol! Their games are sometimes more exciting, or at least delivers more gols, than that of their male counterparts. WTF, is up with the women's movement lately.

The women's US team is getting their asses handed to them already, 2 - 0 at 30-something in the first half. I understand American media and marketing and the want/need to further grow and blow up soccer here, but they make too much out of the women's team and it's annoying. Sure, they were *'the Brasil of soccer back in the day' but that was back in the day. I somewhat root against them everytime (except against Argentina).

If the US loses this game, they will play Brasil next in the quarter-finals (or should I say go out in the quarter-finals) :nice:

    * Term coined by Mariano to describe the most badass greatest best team :p
