It's going to be weird going from watching mexico's sub-17 win the world cup to watching mexico's third string shit team lose tonight in south america.

They could probably put in the sub-17 team and put up a better fight. Oh well, more free time for me I guess.

true. Regardless, although also hilarious being they were on the verge of a major embarrassment, it seems to have worked. Fans like Messi again and the players are now saying they are capable of beating the best.

pathetic as it is but still we'll take, their win, by 3-0, guaranteed that Brasil will make the quarter-finals even with a tie. Which seems that is as good as we are right now. Fkng sucks.

1-0 defeat and Mexico were only able to muster up ONE shot. Beautiful!

A better fight. Is that too much to ask?

yes it is when it isn't mexico's top squad. I'm surprised it was only 1-0, I was expecting 3-0 or higher.

I watched the women's quarterfinals USA vs. Brazil. Honestly I'm never watching a USA game again. All the announcers do for 90 minutes is talk up the players and make, in my opinion, arrogant and inaccurate statements about the opposing team. Any time the ref made a call in favor of Brazil, there was an uproar of the announcers, but when an *inaccurate* call was made in favor of the US, they fell silent. Announcers should be neutral.

DOOD, I watched that game on ESPN and it was sooo damn annoying and infuriating! The British commentator actually had to keep putting the American girl commentator in check. They absolutely get paid to be neutral but just couldn't help themselves I guess.

Nice comeback by Venezuela...that one hurt.

Brasil came up on Ecuador...al fin some jogo bonito. Maicon in the starting lineup was HUGE. He played well and created a TON of scoring chances. I start him over Alves.

                            As meta said (BarcaForum)

"shame Dani had to be made the scapegoat for Lolcio being inept, but there ya go. Maicon's probably a better fit for a bunch of self-indulgent dribblers anyway. he's basically a foosball player with a vertical bar. up-down, up-down, he doesn't give a fuck he'll just go. and that always makes him a good outlet pass."

Barca fan defending his boy...not at all biased lol

You go w/ the line up that will produce and get you the win. I like the adjustment that both Brasil and Argentina made in their respective games. The big boys finally woke up, sort of.
