How does Quinton not answering blows, being taken down, and not pushing the pace equal him retaining his belt? I mean I wish he had won but I understand why he didn't, and you keep saying that regardless Quinton should win because he has the belt.

Come on man, sure rampage has power but this is a point system and Forrest was winning almost the entire night. Amazing fight. Big Country FTW!

I'm just saying based on other title fights I don't see how this one was handed to the challenger.

Few title fights go the distance for one thing, so I really can't give you another instance of this happening right off the top of my head. I pay closer attention to the lightweight division and the past 4 title fights haven't gone very far at all. I feel bad for the fighters that let it go to decision in a close fight because it is even harder to admit defeat then because you don't know if you won or not and it is just a rollercoaster of emotions. I think Quinton was very classy in defeat though.

Title fights in MMA aren't like boxing where if the champ gets beaten by a small amount, it's still given to the champ. Thank god (not really).

Rampage was a bit over rated anyways. He had Chucks number. Every fighter has someone else's number.

Forrest totally deserves the belt. Some of the best fights I have ever watched were his.

He had chucks number, because chucks overrated. He beat Henderson. He not only beat henderson, but outwrestled the former olympian. Forest should enjoy it while it lasts, because it wont be for long. Rashad is going to beat chuck, then he will be forest... assuming Rampage doesnt get a rematch and knock forest out. I think the belt should have stayed with Rampage. If its not a clear dominate performance by the challenger, then the belt should stay with the champ. "To be the best, you gotta beat the best", not let the officials decide you are the best.

How long did Chuck have the belt compared to your boy Rampage. :p

Im watching the fight again right now, and its not as close as it seemed the first time. Forest hurt Rampage's leg, and almost got him in a triangle, until rampage slammed him. Yeah, leg kicks hurt, but its never ended a fight (kinda had the same feeling when Jardine beat Chuck, there wasnt a threat of the fight ending). There were several times rampage almost knocked that hillbilly out, landing nice combinations. Id have it 48-46 rampage (round 2 is 10-8 forrest).

PS: Thanks for the Sopcast heads up maluco. I never knew about that, its pretty sweet, thought he video lags in this instance.

That was some bullshit for sure... Not to be conspiratorial but I just don't see them rightfully taking the belt away from Rampage.

How could anyone give round 1 to Griffin? LOL! Byrd gives 1 to Griffin and 5 to Page??? WTF?

Adalaide Byrd who scored it 48-46, gave 4 and 5 to Jackson and Griffin 1, 2 and 3 with 2 as 10-8

Nelson Hamilton had it 48-46 with 1 and 4 for Jackson, and Griffin getting 2 10-8

Roy Silbert had it 49-46 with only round 4 for Jackson.

QFT. I totally agree.....you shouldnt just be handed a close fight cause you are the champ. You should have to work just as hard as the person you are fighting.

Honestly if rampage had been more aggressive i agree that he would have KO'd griffin and he wouldnt have to worry about what the judges thought of the fight.

I like both fighters, but it almost seemed like rampage didnt want the belt.

I agree about they judges being stupid giving round 1 to Griffin except Nelson Hamilton. I scored it basically the same as him. Oh well, at least we probably won't have to wait long for Griffin v Rampage 2 with all this controversy.
