I actually kind of want Lesnar to win just so I don't have to hear about Velasquez fighting for "All of Mexico"!!!! I'm so sick of hearing that BS, he was born in the USA for christ's sake, and they're playing him off as some great idol to all of Mexico..

i've noticed that too, i am starting to feel different about lesnar the more he fights. once his ego is gone i think i will cheer for him. and fuck that "all for mexico" bullshit, like you said he is fucking american.

I love HDNet. They show K1, Sengoku, best of Dream and others. I like it better than the UFC most of the time.

Anybody watch the Sengoku fights last night? We FINALLY got HDNet on Comcast in Portland. I've been watching a lot of the K-1 on there, too.

Lesner looked like a fat kid getting beat up in school. It was kind of sad. I'd hazard to say he forgot to breath as he looked super gased out within the first 3 minutes.

Lesnar got beat! He handled it much classier than i expected though. Not that I really like Cain, but I am glad its now shown that he is not "unbeatable" like many people believe. That is if we don't count that embarrassing knee bar.

I actually think the GSP/Shields fight will be great. Shields is a submission specialist, so GSP would be more inclined to stand and strike with him. Shields also has good stand up, not nearly as good as GSP, but nothing to scoff at.

I personally loved the Sonnen fight, it was epic seeing someone take it to Silva for the first time in 5+ years :D

I somewhat agree but the reality is these "wrestling" guys tend to do fairly well. Number one, look at Couture, and most recently, look at how bitch ass Sonnen ran the fight against Silva.

Just saying, a solid wrestling background affords these guys a lot of control.

but.... makes for a shitty fight, for a lack of better terms.

Speaking of dudes just rolling around, if Shields fights GSP it will be the snoozefest of the decade. When are they going to make GSP fight a) more than twice a year and b) outside of Canada!?

    ^^ I agree.

If this was strictly a wrestling match that would matter. Fortunately, we get to see people get punched in the face instead of rolling around a mat. I think this is gonna be primarily a stand up and circle fest for the first half of the first round, then brock is gonna take him down and pound him out.

I also wish they would have spent more time hyping up the other fights, the kampan shields fight is super important to the welterweight division! If Sheilds wins, he gets the next shot at GSP.

They compare Brock and Cains collegiate wrestling careers... who gives a shit. That was over ten years ago for Brock and only a few less for Cain. The argument that Bock is a better wrestler because he won a NCAA title is laughable. He may be a better wrestler, but to use that as any sort of gauge is ridiculous.

No I would not, there is a lot to be said for being Humble. If your cocky and get owned you are only going to look like a jackass. I have much more respect for humble fighters that respect their opponents and the sport.

Yes Lesnar is strong and yes he has a ton of wrestling experience and talent, but he is by no means one of the best fighters I have seen and he acts like he is the greatest thing ever. His size combined with his speed is why he is having success. Minus the wrestling his skill set is not that great.
