what i find totally amazing, and im being dead serious here is.....
how 2 people can see the same issue in such a totally different light. i often wonder what molds us to think they way we do. i didnt set out to be a conservative. my parents were working class democrats as i was growing up. one would think i would be too. hugh jass is a good friend of mine but i consider him off his fucking rocker as far as political views go and i know he feels the same about me. other than politics we have many similar interests. he likes taking the cock and i like giving it to him. i dont think id be considered conservative in anything but politics in fact people sometimes chuckle when i say im a conservative .

What really pisses me off is the fact that there are so many people that simply take what candidates say for face value and vote based upon that without doing any actual research. I'm not singling out anyone in this thread, more so the public in general. Younger/first time voters I think are the worst. They are easily impressionable, I know I used to be one. I also hate the electoral college.

I for one find it hilarious, i don't know how you produced offspring with the political views they have, or at least used to have.

I would vote for a Blunt/uofom3 GOP ticket any day of the week.

Redbull 325is I am not trying to get invloved with this thread as well since it gets me no where, but why did you move from France back to the states if you are so upset with the way America is in today's world? It just seems counterproductive is all...

People don't want to see a recession come; they don't realize that it's part of an economic cycle (e.g. the bubble has to burst sometime).

By cutting interest rates, sending out billions in government bailouts, inflation/stagflation and shipping jobs overseas because of globalization: our economy gets worse.

The uneducated person thinks that lowering interest rates makes money cheaper to get (which they view as good), gets money in the mail for nothing, and sees their wages rise - thus this must be great! wrong.

We need 9% short term interest rates with a long term interest rate fixed above the history 5.6-5.9% range and more in the 6.5% range. Couple that with no tax increases, and STOP printing money.

This would immediately have two effects:
1)DOW would drop 3000 points in about a week.
2)The dollar would recover faster than blunt after his first 6 second go around with jenna jameson

BUT, people don't want this. They don't understand that it needs to happen. Sadly, the Bush administration has not stuck to their conservative principles, and the FED is acting in a way that is merely passifying the un-educate people in the American populous.

NOTE: By uneducated, I do not mean stupid. I mean that they have not schooled themselves to understand what really needs to happen in the long-run to recover market equilibriums as well as restore our financial markets to solid positions. They would rather see a 13,000 point market than has no basis than a 10k market that is actually solidly functioning.
            Great informative post. Cred +5

The welfare state collapsed thanks to globalization. Europeans are now seriously facing the problems that this is causing, and are reluctant to change to a capitalist system because of the amount of extra work they would have to do.

I liken welfare states to unions as far as economic models are concerned - they don't work in a globalized economy. They really don't help many people out unless you are now 30 years into a union contract, or you are 70 y/o and living off the government (European model).

That is a whole 'nother discussion, which would require a new thread.

You should define white whining for the rest of us who can't extrapolate that from your post.

There are many topics that all tie together on these topics, And to think I don't recall anyone here starting the waterworks crying bout SS being something 85% of r3v users will never see it, blunt excluded, me too if you ask the "So Cal Canyon Carving Crew".

I think He means anything that all us silver spooned, land of opportunity, on a silver platter white folk gripe about. We're white, we don't have any problems, don't ya know?

                          This is good shit.

I'm fairly neutral on all of this - as it doesn't really impact me. Interesting to see all of your views.

Pressing question: If you could travel back in time would you trade places with a black person at birth assuming all other things equal?

It would better explain my height, and I could have made millions playing basketball. So, maybe.
