this is just as idiotic as "don't buy gas" days.

I'm pretty sure all the Excursions, H2s and Suburbans I saw this weekend didn't need to be on the road. If you want gas prices to go down: use less. and there are more forces at work causing high gas prices other than "greedy oil companies". This idea just needs to die...

It does not matter as this is worthless. Taxes are, Fed about 18 cents per gallon & state varies, Ca. is more than 25 cents per gallon.

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that
BUYERS control the marketplace..not sellers.

Buyers do control the marketplace.... but the problems is not the "Evil Oil Companies" its the developing nations like China, Russia, and India that are now demanding more and more fossil fuel each year.

With the price of gasoline going up more each day,
we consumers need to take action.

Yeah.. like conserve. American's need to realize we're not the only country of people that want to live the American dream.. so buy an eta.

The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas!
And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase
ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies
(which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL.

If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to
reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices,
the other companies will have to follow suit.

Like it was mentioned before. Exxon and the many other big "evil" oil companies supply their fuel to many other branded gas stations. You would probably be more effect with the "Don't buy any gas on this day" method.

If you want someone to blame for gas prices then blame the hedge fund investors that keep taking their money out of stocks and throwing it into oil and gold as a hedge everytime the market hiccups.

The "cheap" fossil fuel days of your are over. Voltage regulators, speed controllers, DC motors, charging battery banks via water spun generators, and the lot will be what we are talking about in 8-10 years.

The natural progression I have seen in my own car taste has gone from;

8-12mpg +427ci Late 60's A-bodies

to

14-22mpg 347ci LS-1 F-bodies

to

25+ mpg 1.8l EF, EG, EK Civics

to

~20mpg 3.2l BMW's

and,

Now I'm in contemplation of moving towards a m42/m44 swap of some sort instead of this s52 nonsense if I'm keeping my pocketbook in mind.

Thru all I have come to realize fuel was going to continue to go nuts, My grandparents spoke of .20 cent/gal fuel in Cad/LaSalle swapped '49-'50 Shoeboxes and how fuel was going to get out of reach for them even then.

Why don't people realize that OPEC is a CARTEL and price fixing is their game? There's no way they would allow Exxon Mobil to lower their prices without expulsion from the cartel, which would mean certain bankruptcy. The only way to get oil companies to lower their prices is to set price limits on their products or else lower demand by not buying ANY gas from any of the OPEC nations at all. Like that will ever happen.

Dear god - this 'tatic' again?!?!? Feel free to give it a stab but it won't even create a ripple in the oil barrel. Not too long ago there were many critics who said, "...what will it take to change peoples' behavior, $5/gal.? $6/gal.? $7/gal.?" Nationwide the price of regular unleaded is at or past $4/gal. - out here in Kalifornia the price of regular unleaded is nearly $4.50/gal. and people are already looking into smaller, more efficient cars. Only those truly well-heeled ballers continue to roll in their guzzlers. The masses are feeling the pinch and we are starting to see the early signs of perminant change in what we will be paying for our energy needs (so long as we don't change a thing about how we go about getting said energy).

If you really believe fuel prices are going to drop dramatically anytime soon, you might as well go play your local lottery because you'll have better chances there. For the better part of the 20th century the US was the worlds' primary fuel user. But now we are in the 21st century and counties such as China and India are ramping up demand very quickly. Now we're not the only ones playing the game "my fuel, not your fuel." For the United States to prosper in the future in terms of energy independence, we are going to have to approach this like any smart and savvy person with their 401K. Diversity will be the key: tapping into our own natural resources here, using solar, wind and nuclear....as well as being more energy efficient with out habbits as far as cars, houses and other luxuries are concerned. If you think driving a Prius, recycling plastic bags & aluminum cans is the answer to our current situation, you need to set down the pipe and let your head clear.

over THREE MILLION consumers .
If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!

If it goes one level further, you guessed it....
THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!


How long would all that take? If each of us tells some one or sends out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!!

I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you!

I have another solution to lower your fuel bill. Drive smaller cars. Go to work by bus or bicycle. Don't live two hours away from work. Tell your "investing friends" on Wall Street to stop speculating on fuel.

Its real easy to say sell the Suv's, but when you buy a 36k suv and the price of a gallon of gas drives the price of your suv down by 75% how do you sell it. and my e30 cost me 22.00 2 years ago now it cost 52.00 to fill which is what my suv cost 2 years ago. I do have to drive my suv in order to make a living. which drives up the cost of doing business. Oil co. made over 300 billion last year. I lost 250k last year due to loosing jobs because of the delivery cost. people are now using co. that are local and sacrificing quality for cost. So its not just about the cost of a gallon of gas. it's Going to drive the cost of living up and will drive co. out of business and people from there homes. But hey, we could just flood the market with Suv's at a discount to the used car industry.. Thats a great idea!!!!!
