            They were fast little bastards. The regular version was called "Le Car" and was "Le Gay". There was a Le Car race series here in the US for a couple of years, but the race cars were all stock base vehicles like this one:

                    When I was in High School those were what the rich kids had.

                    Le Car was just awful but the R2 made up for it.

                                    Way cool. I remember reading an article in CAR or Turbo and High Performance or something about 10 years ago or so of a BUILT Turbo2, was a really wild car running like 7:1 compression and near 30 psi of boost or something crazy.
