Bump for having just finished the book. Re-watched the trailer again, enjoyed it so much more this time. Now I'm really pumped for this movie. Looks like they're going to follow the story very closely.

Watchmen is the kind of comic that if they didn't, everyone who worked on the movie would probably be beaten to death. :D

Well, I just finished reading Watchmen again last night. I'd read it like 10 years ago, but I lost about half my comics around the same time, when I went through a sort of "family shift". I just bought it again last week at Barnes & Noble, and finished it about 5 days. Fucking amazing, and I've been watching the trailer multiple times after reading, and they've got a lot of shit really close. I think it's going to be an amazing flick.

From what I have read, Zack Snyder is shooting literally everything from the novel. The theatrical version will likely be shortened but there will be an extended dvd that will have everything including "tales of the black freighter". I am super fucking excited for this.

I'm excited for this also. Even got my roommates interested in it. Seems like they've gotten it really close to the book, which would be incredible if it is that way since they always dumb it down.
