The cost to pay all those old people who are living longer than the democrat who started it expected is what is causing deficits along with other entitlement programs started by democrats. If you want a balanced budget, get rid of the thing with costs growing faster than revenue. A retired individual doesn't bring in social security tax but needs benefits longer than was planned. It doesn't make financial sense and is a growing QUICKLY portion of the budget expenses.
