The cost to pay all those old people who are living longer than the democrat who started it expected is what is causing deficits along with other entitlement programs started by democrats. Maybe they should have had the end in mind, instead of just starting what seemed to their stupid asses a good idea.

If you want a balanced budget, get rid of the thing with costs growing faster than revenue. A retired individual doesn't bring in social security tax but needs benefits longer than was planned. It doesn't make financial sense and is a growing QUICKLY portion of the budget expenses.

Perhaps if you weren't blind, you'd see the rising MANDATORY costs are causing deficits, not revenue INCREASES or controlled reasonable spending.

I don't listen to Rush, and don't watch Fox news. I look at the budget numbers and have done papers studying Reaganomics, by the numbers and drew my own conclusions. I have also been arguing people who didn't like the Bush cuts, and followed the numbers and seen the results.

I dont read what someone else is telling me what to think... I want to understand for myself, and do. I don't trust the media, on either side, and wish you had the intellect to be able to think for yourself and understand the figures.

I lived reaganomics. I also lived through Bush I's tenure and the effect he had on this nation's economy.

I didn't have to read about it in a book or get second-hand info from someone else. I don't trust the media either - especially not the Bush PR firms. I don't read or listen to any pundits, and I don't need anyone to tell me what I should think. I take straight news articles, verify that at least two legitimate sources published it, and interpret myself.

When I said I was a staunch conservative, I meant that I sucked down anything the republicans told me without question - kinda like you.

Now I look at the issues from both sides.
