If you truly cared about McCain winning presidential elections, you wouldn't spend months on r3v arguing with people who already made up their minds and would try to register undecided voters. Get your priorities straight and stop playing victim.

As a matter of fact, if you're so concerned about Obama winning, pick up his tax-code and start looking for loopholes, it will serve you better.

not Republican, I'm a registered Independent. Never have I said I was in support of McCain. Making politically charged threads is fine and I enjoy hearing from the other side. That's why I do it. But if your going to attack me, attack me with backed fact. I respect Old n Slow and several others because they can usually do such. Sound intelligent even though we might not share the same views. I spend my time on R3v because I enjoy this site, the threads such as these is "icing" per say! If I spent all my time in the "same thinking" forums I would not never get to hear from the other side per say. Im not trying to get any of you to vote my way just trying to understand another sides point of views. Never have I played victim or screamed foul.

As for Obama's tax code, that seems to be changing daily. I am really interested in it though because I stand not to gain anything from his shuffling of the wealth around.

both of you guys missed my point.

Old-n-Slow, you're looking for moral guidance from government, pointing fingers at peoples beliefs. That's really sad. That's really ignorant. That's very immature. Not to mention goes against the grain of "Freedom of Religion" as wacky as it can be. And it can be very wacky, and it is on both sides. Pointing finger at Palin and not at Obama is reverse of what FOX does, but doesn't make you any better than them. If you're going to attack her, attack her for her failures and accomplishments, not beliefs. McCain supporters can't even do that, Obama has not accomplishments that he disclosed information about. So please, attack her for her pro-life views, attack her on her fighting party corruption with corruption, make it substantial.

Vedubin, you've stirred so much political debate. And if I didn't participate in some of those, I'd say you were an independent. Thing is, I saw your posts, I saw which way you sway. I never attacked you, and quite honestly, we're on the same side a bit too often (except when you use FOX as a source). Right there and then, you assumed the role of a victim, being attacked.

Back to OP, there's very little you can predict when it comes Obama presidency, or any presidency. Bush's Texas governorship was nothing like his presidency. There are too many factors and too many briefings that could alter your decision making. So far we saw stock market lose investors in fear of a new tax code. We also see that businesses growing past $250k will penalized in form of tax (that's up to congress). As much of policy as Obama brings to the table, not even democrats would support some of that. So it's really tough to predict what will happen. Some say there will be mayhem in Iraq if he gets elected and starts pulling troops, but we have no idea what he'll do until generals brief him into all situations. Biden is a very smart politician, and he's been around the block, we are yet to see how he'll use his powers. As far as foreign policy, Obama wants to meet with leaders, I like that idea, but what will the consequences be? Taking a page from history, Stalin, FDR and Churchill sat together in Yalta.

FDR thought that Churchill was an senile alcoholic, and Stalin was a man of his word.
Stalin thought Churchill couldn't be trusted, and FDR was weak.
Churchill thought Stalin was genocidal, and used trickery to dumb FDR into WWII in Europe.

The only positive outcome was defeat of Nazi Germany, although a huge chunk of Europe would trade communism for fascism given the choice (Stalin was more brutal, oops). US went on power-binge attacking countries that looked at us funny. Brits are Brits (some call it karma).

So we're all blind-folded. Hypothetical situations are only great when you don't have to make a decision.

The passion with which you attack Obama from every possible (sometimes petty) angle and haven't posted anything even remotely critical of McCain speaks volumes for your independence.

Also the comparing Obama to Hitler and Palin to Reagan in your sig helps.

You're about as independent as Bill O-Reilly or Sean Hannity. It's very easy to claim independence, I'M A REGISTERED INDEPENDENT! See, I can do it too.

Well signing up Aug of this year to R3v really has not made you an expert of anything! I have never spoke highly of McCain but I despise Obama!

i predict that vedubbins average post count will drop dramatically come Tuesday. Well unless Obama wins, then it will probably triple.

                        If Obama wins
Will there be a major polarization between both camps for the coming mandate (and more, maybe)?

                        If McCains wins
What will the social climate be in the US?
About 50% of the Americans (as well as most of the rest of the world) are currently flying high on hopes of changes.
Obama loosing the elections will be very disapointing.

If Obama wins, everyone that works for their money will rally and refuse to pay taxes. The gov't will come after them and bomb their villages with their publicly funded nuclear bombs. Then the US will be filled with politicians and lazy civilians that don't work and have never payed taxes. The end of the world will be somewhere around 2012.
