I'm all for volunteering in HS, but there are programs for that in good HS, and college is a place of philanthropic events already.

FORCING people to volunteer is not volunteering.

They already did the 70 hours "volunteer" thing when I was in HS. We all just forged each other's signoff slips and never did an hour. I imagine this will be much the same.

It's amazing. And it all started happening when I became proud of my country for the first time, blah, blah, blah, right.

In all honesty, I've been queasy and mentally stressed thinking about the ramifications in the next 3-10 years by the decisions made earlier this week.

And as for the volunteer work, in high school I had to do volunteer work for a grade, but instead wrote a paper saying it wasnt very voluntary if I was getting graded for it. I failed that assignment, but it goes along with my principals
