We've been pretty slow (medium sized Chrysler/Jeep dealer) but I've managed about 40-45 a week. Today I was the last one to go home at 3:30pm and I had 8 hours, the most in the shop.

You'd better stay busy. I dont know what I'd do without a pizza industry.

Yeah the job market is scary for some people. I'm completely secure, so I'm not too worried about it (thank God).

busy at work for me.. we'll see where capital spending is going come january, but my current project won't be completed until summer, and we have projects all the way until 2011. it's supposed to hold steady; most of our work is EPA mandated. Some of our clients have pushed mandatory work way back, so we've got a couple mountains to climb next year. The people who run our company also had the foresight to realize a contraction was coming and slowed growth in hiring way back. they're expecting to add 25 people next year still.

Our autoglass business is going slow as hell. On average we've been getting 1-3 jobs a day most of which do not make much money at all. Don't get me wrong we do excellent work and get several job calls, but most people flake out when we quote them. It seems that most people are giving up the on quality of work and are turning towards the cheaper alternatives and are getting hack jobs done on their cars.

If anyone needs autoglass work done in the SFV/Valencia areas in SoCal you can contact us at 818 974-3673 ask for Frank. Our business is called New Era Auto Glass.

We can do an e30 windshield for 135$ installed

                    =)

well, on an e30 its pretty simple.

on that note..i actually do need a front windshield. after 22 yrs of being on the road..the pitting on it is insane. also the cracks can kind of get annoying. its just the cost of buying a windshield its self..ha.

Yea I know its pretty simple. lol. Most rubber set windshields are easy to install, but some can be a bitch and take time to install. As an example the Porche Targa(old ones) rear glass is difficult to install and usually takes us up to a couple hours to do.

However people don't like buying glass from the dealer. So they call us instead since we can usually get it for cheaper. ;)

                            ^haha true that.

Anyways sometimes people do source their own glass and higher us to install it, and that is where the job gets tricky. Since we didn't buy the glass we can't warranty it, and if it breaks during installation their is nothing we can do. However we can warranty the installation like leaks blah blah blah...
