S&W knives are very inexpensive. First run doesn't mean much I'd say. Probably a boat load made. Look on eBay.

Well, posterity, you will never know what it cost us to preserve your freedom. I only hope that you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it.

          35 sound like fair pricing?

              This.
S&W made some good stuff a while ago, but now nothing more than a tool box knife at best.

Buy something you'll have forever, bigger initial cost, but the difference is unexplainable until you carry one. Cry Once.

I carry a Leatherman Skeletool every day, but I must have 20 others lying around. Right now, there are two WWII bayonets sitting on this monitor. I've got all kinds of other multi tools and knives, mostly Buck and Leatherman. Some Gerber stuff, too. A few nice ones like a handmade Finnish piece. My grandfather collects knives, and it wore off on me. I actually made a knife, too. It was a great way to learn about metal. Learned how to harden the steel with the charcoal grill, then temper it with the oven. It came out looking pretty good, for a first attempt. After making a Kydex sheath, I use it every time I go fishing.

I've got way to much time on my hands.

Like all other companies, Spyderco has some better values and some worse values. Spyderco makes a great knife, and I find the prices to be reasonable.

For my money, there's no better budget folder than a spyderco Tenacious.

I have a sog flash II 2nd gen and its a great knife. You just have to break in the safety a little so it moves better. I think I paid 75 bucks or from the dealer for mine.
