Ive entered some catfish tournaments here in Ohio. I havent come close to winning, but we've caught a few. I would really like to get into deep sea fishing if I ever get the chance.

Ditto - or just parking your can on the shoreline to accomplish the same task. I used to do this with a couple friends years ago. Our luck at catching fish was hit or miss, but we always managed to catch a buzz :p

my friends grandparents own a marina on the delta so we always just cruise over there, but it might be a bit far for you. we should meet up at berryessa once the weather gets a bit warmer.

i actually went deep sea fishing when i was in hawaii this past summer. i somehow managed to reel in a shark...that fucker was easier to pull in than those stupid yellow fin tuna

I used to be really into it, had the 10k boat and 5k in gear. Sold the boat years ago and still have much of the gear but I work too much in the summer to go. I am never home anyway so it all just sits in the basement collecting dust and spider webs.

my wife and i go locally on lake minnetonka just to relax on nice summer days. i go to alaska to fish salmon and halibut. 5 years ago i got a 460lb halibut. it was like hauling in an 02. a year before that i took my 2 sons and they caught a slough of 40-60 lb halibut. the boat guides bring them up on the deck on the back of the boat and put a 410 slug in their heads. i think it was more for effect for the kids but the really big fuckers (up to 600lbs) the always shoot in the head
