what kind of fish is this?

have no clue what it can be.

It's the Magic Fish, but it got tired of people nagging other people about the outcome of their wishes, and having to grant them more wishes. So, it beached itself and gave up.

Clearly there is no way it could be one of the hundreds of known sculpin, possibly the rosy lip variety, since that would be far too boring an answer for a modern audience to accept. However, you probably have an intertidal example there, so looking in to that may yield results.
