I've yet to find a Christian who can answer this: IF Jesus was God, and therefore God practiced Judaism, then how can you now claim Jews are hell-bound?

Also, please point to the place in the Gospels where Jesus unequivocally states "when I die, you are to promptly abandon the traditions I MYSELF PRACTICED, and create a new system of belief. Since I am not allowed to be specific (apparently) then you must guess about what it is I want and expect. Oh, and though I myself have lived a completely non-violent life, go kill others who won't believe your version of what I am." There's no controversy to stir. The whole wotl of Christians is taking for granted that Jesus is a white guy. which doesn't make sense since he theorically is arabic. So maybe no blond hair, and possibly brown curls. Maybe more tanned than what he is usually depicted. The whole question is how come he has been depicted as a white dude? I guess that anybody, independently from his (her) religion can have an idea. Because just swallowing everything we are being told is pretty dumb.

God does not exist, period. Atheism is a presumption, or the starting point. As an atheist, I do not have to prove that God does not exist, the burden of proof lies with the theist. When people wake up, start questioning their beliefs, and realize that belief in a deity is completely irrational, humanity will take a giant leap forward.

Closer to us, that huge continent now called America was "discovered" by Europeans, just as if nobody had set a foot on that continent before. Almost denying that aboriginal peoples were living there millenums before the white man.

So why did we accept that Jesus was white, and not black (Sarazin) or Arabic? Jesus (if he indeed existed - which is another topic) was also Jewish until he claimed he was God's son, and thefore the prophet, which displeased the powers in place (Jews and Romans).

Anyway, be assured that stiring shit ain't the goal of that thread. If we can't talk religion without killing each others, then we have a problem...

As an agnostic, I can talk about it all day long and not get perturbed. Jesus, who probably did exist due to all the historical record of him, was middle eastern. Dark skin, dark hair. Simple as that. The Catholic church is the cause of the white Jesus pics we all see today. They are responsible for sooo many of the misintrepretations of the bible and sooo many of the falsehoods that many people in this world believe. In short, I don't think Jesus would be thrilled with the Catholic church. Oh, and Jesus was a communist.

I think history taught today has righted a lot of the wrongs you mention. I live in the Bible Belt and am a Christian, but have been told that Jesus was not white but olive skinned, dark haired, i.e. what you're referring to as Arabic, for as long as I can remember. Furthermore, history books have been largely corrected to refer to the European oppression of the indigenous peoples of the Western hemisphere as just that.

People who think Jesus was white are simply ignorant, but the color of his skin is insignificant, really. If black people want to picture him as black, if brown people want to picture him as brown, etc. then so be it. The importance of Jesus is not contained in his appearance, but his contribution to mankind.
