I'm all for making weed decriminalized/legal. You can buy and drink alcohol that fucks your body over harder than marijuana ever will. So why not either make it legal, or keep it to a small fine for possession up to a certain amount?

As for the hardcore shit, natural selection is all i have to say.

If he wanted to overdose on meth then why not let him have at it? Would help clean up the streets.

When used correctly in ritual, pot is the gateway drug for the demons from hell to come out and control your body. Do it all the time in the middle of my floor's pentagram.

turge, you are aware that the "slippery slope" argument is a logical fallacy, right?

I don't like people being amotivated or destroying their career opportunities in some areas because of it [the second would largely be eliminated by legalization too], but video games and alcohol can distract or make people fail out too. It's about self control and personal responsibility, not the government telling people what they should be allowed to do.

Plus it's a victimless 'crime', it's the illegal nature that is supporting drug cartels and crime business. Tax it, reduce people in prison, and reduce cost of fighting it - it's simple economics.

If you get caught using any hard drugs, you should be sent to rehab for treatment, although I believe it should also be a 3 strike policy. For example, you get sent to rehab for 3 months for being in possession of meth. After being released you are found with meth on you again. You are then sent back to rehab for 6 months and are forced to do community service for a year after coming back from rehab with random drug tests. If you're caught again the same policy applies as the 2nd time, but you are then required to get regular drug tests. Any thing after the 3rd offense would increase the time in rehab and the amount of community service you need to complete. Also... anything after the 3rd time could result in jail time.

Dealing would be still a criminal offense and jail time would be given to those dealing. An idea would be to have parole officers with drug dogs check up on the dealers to make sure they are not selling anymore after they have been released.

And seriously guys, just get a medical card for Pot. My friend did so and he mentioned it was an easy process. Complain about pain and boom you got yourself a card. Literally took him like 20 minutes. Therefor you are smoking legally and problem solved. Just don't be an idiot by selling the stuff illegally and getting caught. Also the Government can always tax the "perscriptions". ;)
I'm not sure if you know this but you cannot get a weed card that easily outside of Cali....

How about for stupid posts we just execute people?

I wouldn't care if all drugs were legalized, as long as you aren't endangering others there shouldn't be a law against what I do to myself.

My sister lives in Cali and has completely stopped drinking due to their laws.

See, the thing is that the med card shows up on your medical history file. When you apply for a job, they ask you to sign that paper that's gives them permission to access your medical history, backround info etc. I wouldn't sign that paper fearing disqualification from employment, but since not signing it makes one look sus, I won't buy the card. Let the plant be a plant and let those who enjoy it, enjoy it.

People don't avoid doing doing harmful drugs because they're illegal, they avoid them because they're harmful. Decriminalizing all drugs would not increase the number of hard drug users, it would just make the drugs safer for those who will inevitably do them.

It would also save our country billions of dollars on the enforcement of drug laws ($30 billion budget in 1999) and the incarceration drug users (a substantial cost, I'm sure), while at the same time generating billions of dollars by taxing marijuana ($6 billion if taxed at rates similar to tobacco).

It was probably all mentioned in this thread already, oh well. Not about to read it.

I am absolutely for the legalization of weed with the same restrictions as liquor but I will never support the complete decriminalization of hard drugs. Meth infests the county I live in like a zombie plague. The only thing keeping it away from the general public is that they hole up in nasty safe houses like cockroaches to stay away from the law.
