Oh, and the $7200 you paid in, was not only Federal Income tax. That also included your Social Security, Medicare and State Income tax (only assuming Washington does).I paid in over $7,200 at a $19,800 income for the year (last year) and recieved $5,300 back. Ironically, I paid in more than I got out. This may not be what you were specifically talking about, but in general, your "quick example" isn't super air tight. You're right, it's not a difficult concept to grasp but it's not so simple in reality.
I know that, because the marginal tax rate at your income is not 36%. So let's compare apples to apples.
Last year, I paid $8300 in Federal Income tax and received back $1300. Remeber that's ONLY Federal Income tax, in total I paid in just over $15,000 in "payroll" taxes.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

I was just hoping ck_taft325is was going to come back in here and own up to being one of the people that profits off the income tax whilst claiming to despise the same people.
Guess the hypocrisy was too much for him to handle.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com
