I see it like this, Isreal is a Jewish nation, Yes there are non Jews residing there peacefully. For a millenium now people have been trying to wipe the Jews off the face of the planet so I understand their itchy trigger finger. Do they react the way US americans would react when we are safely across the globe from our enemies, No, because they are in the middle of the shit! Why should we be friends with them, when the shit hits the fan and we do go to war with Iran, Isreal will be there with one of the largest Air Force's in the world.Would you continue to be friends with someone that picks fights all the time, makes you a target, doesn't show appreciation of your sacrifices for them, and just has an all around negative influence on your life? No? Didn't think so. So why should we continue to be friends with Israel?Brian JacobsComment

you call what we have been doing in the middle east of the past 50 yearsThat's not diplomacy. That's turning your back on our ONLY REAL Ally in the Middle East. "Flexing our muscles" actually HAS worked for a long, long time in that region. Has this tactic been perfect? Hell no! But it's the only one that seems work with those people.
The same thing every administration has done for the last 60 years. Back Israel and let those camel-fuckers know that if they fuck with Israel we're going to rape them until the Middle East stinks like ass.
I'm assuming everyone on this board wants peace. Hell even I do. What Obama has done is hung Israel out to dry. They're now in a position where they either HAVE to fight or be wiped off the map. There can be no peace when Israel has no US backing. Siding or even being remotely diplomatic to Islam is just the dumbest move any president has ever done.
"working", Hello, if it was working we would not be there. It is time to do something different, if it does not work we can try something else that does not work.
hmm, that theory of blindly backing Isreal has not and will not work. Obama has not hung Isreal out to dry by saying we are looking in to it, He is buying time. How is being diplomatic to Islamic dumb. Not all Islamic are suicide bombers. Iran is just as slighted as Isreal, I honsetly believe the only way there will be peace in the middle east is through talks and then through breeding the hate out, meaning if we can get peace now the children of the children of today will have never known the resentment of the past. That is how long it will take. You can not kill your way into tranquilityBrian JacobsComment

I tried to find a source of information that cannot be blamed for being sided.
http://www.businessweek.com/news/201...-update1-.html
So, basically, here's a neutral description from what has happened in the past days. It's from a Jewish source, which indicates that not all Jewish sources are necessarely partial to Israel. And while, as humans, we tend to simplify things and put all people in the same bag, it is a false assumption to think that all Israelis think alike. There's a huge clash between Sefarats and Ashkenaz in Israel. Semitic Jews (Sefarats - from Asian Africa) are considered as second class citizens by the European Jews. Indeed, only from 1990 did a Sefarat had access to a higher rank in the governement. So let's not judge all Israelis as one homogenous bunch of people. Many of them want peace and want to give back Palestinans their stolen territories...
But reading many of the posts on this thread, it looks like the extremists are not all in the Middle East. ;-)Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

Isn't there some kind of sanction prohibiting ANYONE from building homes/new construction in Gaza but Israel ignored it?I tried to find a source of information that cannot be blamed for being sided.

You bet. They are called resolutions. There are over a hundred of them from the UN for the past 62 years (and most aren't being followed by Israel). Some resolutions requiring Israel to give back the occupied territories. Which obviousy never happened, hence the current incidents.
BTW My comment from yesterday about Born again Christian was not meant to be a personal attack, but a way to explain the support that members of this group give to Israel. Both groups believe in Armageddon and the return to a Jerusalem "cleaned" from Muslims... Bush, per exemple, is a Born Again.
"George sees this as a religious war," one family member told us. "He doesn't have a PC view of this war. His view is that they are trying to kill the Christians. And we the Christians will strike back with more force and more ferocity than they will ever know." Critics charge that the president is blindly engaged in a crusade, propelled by a belief in Armageddon that will end in a geopolitical disaster. One has compared his faith to the fundamentalists of Islam. Another calls it downright "frightening." Do we have something to fear from Bush's obviously strongly held convictions?
It is sad what most religions make people do. There are extremists everywhere.Last edited by Massive Lee; 06-02-2010, 05:29 AM.Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

for thoes who dont know why we are allies with Isreal:
1. They are a nation that we can land our planes in and use airspace in the middle east
2. They most likley buy the equivelant of ,all of europe's yearly purchasing, in military technology from us. This is one of our last true exports.
3. They have nuclear weaponry, and we gave it to them88 325ic ~~~> Rusty and ugly

Yes. Indeed. I edited it and made sure it was clearly worded and not ambiguous. Christians. Jews. Muslisms. And the funny thing is that it is a fundamental human need to leave a peacefull life. But sadly, some people decide otherwise for you

Its no secret that we are in the middle east for the oil. Hell, if any of you know anything about history then you know we helped start the oil industry over there when that area was a desert and nothing more. Now after meddling in that area for a while we've developed enemies who don't want us there. We survive on oil. I think I heard once that the average city wouldn't last more than 3 days if we had no more oil. So really there is no option but to keep meddling in the middle east affairs, especially if were not going to drill in our own backyard.Comment
