no the divorce rate is super high because to many people dont have respect for:
A. Their partner
B. The contracts they make
C. The words they speak in a wedding
Also, too many people expect that marriage will always be this feeling of love and bliss, which it isn't. Everyone sees the happy side of marriage on tv etc, but no one sees how much work it is when your annoyed with your partner. as soon as some obstacles come people forget about their oaths.
also, the punishment for adultery isn't death, like it is in you know, some arab countries.

I am married and i get annoyed but I know that my wife is a great, strong and beautiful woman. So I take her shit sometimes. Well it is a disgrace if you cheat on your partner of life and punishment should be harsh.Comment

I am not an extremist at all. I do agree with islamic laws. here is a few examples..
1. if you steal they chop ur finger/hand off. Now i know you wouldnt steal right.
2. if you rape the they hang you in public. now you wouldnt rape right.
3. if you kill then they hang you. you wouldnt kill right.
4. if you commit adultery then they stone you to death. so why not just get a divorce and move on.
5. Islam like christianity and judaism also say you must not fornicate till marriage. Majority of muslims are virgins before marriage, so thats why the STD/AIDS population in muslim countries are very very low. Unless ofcourse werstern countries went to invade them or some shit...

yet you still have people stealing raping killing and committing adultery. The problem with your religion is that it offers no room for forgiveness, only threats and punishment. i agree rape and murder should be punished by death. but stealing is not something that should be punished with the loss of limb. its ridiculous that you think chopping someones hand off is a proper response to theft.Comment

You really might want to do a little research before you stick your virtual foot in your virtual mouth.
Did you get your "understanding" of Islam from FOX? You probably don't know that many passages in the Bible and Qur'an are virtually identical because they are both Abrahamic religions. They stem from the same texts.
Religion always adapts to the social climate in which it exists. The Christian religion has strayed far from the idea of Jesus as a humble man who did not crave wealth and transformed into a mega-church based "gospel of prosperity" where you receive earthly rewards. Why? Because that's what people want to hear. If you are rich, you get to feel rewarded by God. If you are poor, you have hope-follow God and you will be rewarded. If you stay poor, it's because you aren't doing it right.
Islam has strayed too, and when you look at the social and economic conditions in which the extremists flourish, it's no wonder. I believe the choice of religion in the case of Muslim extremists isn't the issue. It might be a handy excuse to blow up things and people in the name of Allah, but no more so than anti-abortion extremists who find a Biblical reason to kill abortion docs or blow up abortion clinics. If the extremists were Christians, they would, like the Pentecostals of the American South, be Old Testament, Leviticus law upholders using any perceived excuse to kill. "You have been convicted of wearing cotton/poly blend clothing" (forbidden by the Bible). "It is stated that this is an abomination to God, therefore you MUST be put to death to atone for your sin". Nice huh, and clearly based on writings that "Christians" believe.
Any religion can be twisted. Judge those doing the twisting, not the words on the paper. Even the term "Jihad", which actually means "internal, personal struggle towards the attainment of a noble goal" has been co-opted into a violent term by extremists.Comment
