Lee, the problem lies with their children being used as "anchor babies" to embed themselves in this country.

I totally understand that problem. Could also be peoples with a visitor visa, giving birth while "on vacation" and then requiring citizenship for themselve to support the baby. Every single country experiences the same "situations".

Movance of populations has been happening for millenums. When a region dries out, people move to a more welcoming hill. Horses used to be free in North America...

My only question in this situation is what is the root problem that this law wants to solve? Is that a tax problem? Employment problem? Purely territorial? Any humanitarian aspect to this situation? What about legalizing immigrants who report within the next month? If they are in the US, most likely they work, and most likeley they positively contribute to the society. I am 100% sure that on a moral standard, some US citizens are worst scumbags and don't contribute to the society at all. How many of them are on a lifetime wellfare? Why not deport those and make room for law-abiding foreigners? ;-)

The child should not lose their citizenship. If they are born in this country, they should be able to have their citizenship.

HOWEVER, the child must be deported along with the rest of their family due to the parents being here illegally, and obviously the child cannot take care of itself. If, and when the child is able to come back into this country, maybe when they turn 18 or something, they shouldn't be denied citizenship. They, and their family, need to go through all the proper channels though, and if they are caught fucking with the system, they lose their citizenship and are deported.

If not and is allowed to stand it leaves a very very slippery slope for the rest of the Constitution. What would stop CA, IL, NY, CT, or TX from writing a law that suspends the 1st, 2ed, 4th, 5th or 3rd amendments???? By letting AZ keep this law it would set a legal precedent for a state to have a law that is contradictory to the Constitution and enforce said law, which would basically make it null and void at the state level. There would be nothing to stop law makers in the non free states from banning guns (they cant completely as it is now) or free political speech, or 4th amendment protections or the rest of YOUR BIRTH RIGHTS?????

Our lawyers look for case law precedents not so much to the Constitution any longer (hence the term legislation form the bench).

It is a right to become a citizen if you are born in this country, and that should not be taken away. If they really want to get rid of the anchor baby issue then get 66% of the states to Call for a Constitutional Convention to draft a 28th amendment to repeal that provision of the 14th amendment. Its never been done before but it allowed. The thing is you have lawmakers from ever state in the union pandering to these folks, so it will never get done on a federal level thanks to Political correctness and not wanting to "look racist".

If a fucked up situation and till we have a fence, and politicians that put morals and ethics before party and vote pandering too keep their place in power, we will only see everything continue down hill fast.

The parents shouldn't become citizens, but the child who was born here should be able to hold citizenship.

Of course this opens a whole new can of worms with people trying to cross the border just to have children, blah blah blah.

The system is fucked, and I want to move to Europe or Asia for a while after I'm done with school to work.

This law is not receiving much fan fare compared to SB1070, the supporters of 1070 are already are not wanting to set a precedent to affect other rights like the first 3.

I say let the kid stay (born on US soil), but the parents have to leave. If they want to be with their kid they can take it with them.

i think adding a few clauses can help avert the anchor baby thing.. something like

1. legal permanent residence for x amount of days
2. ? trying to stay reasonable here.. at least one parent has a visa or legal income

no, parents should not be allowed to stay here. they're gone, and kid goes with them since they cannot survive by themselves. when child is 18, he can come and get his passport or whatever, parents can come too, but need to go through proper channels. if they try to abuse the system, everyone loses citizenship and is deported back to shit hole mexico.

there a lot of things that i enjoy that come from the MEXICAN culture that we have from our proxcimity to Mexico. it is the issues that have come from rampent illegal immigration for the late 15-20 years that i have a problem with. until you have lived here, you can't understand.

i have Mexican friends who are hear legally and they can't stand the image and probems caused by illegals. i have also know illegals and heard the stories first hand of Coyotes and human smuggling. while i feel bad for what they went through, they still did it illegally, therefore they void their rights to be here.

my point was every whitie is born from illegal parents at some point. we seized america by force and then we get upset that other people are moving in here. i think its ridiculous. imo, native central americans have more right to live in AZ then descendants of europe. thats why i said, how far back are we talking? do we say the line is drawn now? and all babies henceforth shall be deported?

as long as they dont rob/rape/kill/other crimes/etc i really dont care how they got here. the majority of them are hard workers.
