as long as they dont rob/rape/kill/other crimes/etc i really dont care how they got here. the majority of them are hard workers.

This attitude of complacency is terrible, they broke the law to get here. Come to Arizona and try to get any services done or have to deal with providing service to people who don't respect anything but bettering themselves, not learning our customs, or even paying into the system. They broke the law; sure my great x 15 grand pappy came here and farmed on Indian land was "an illegal" immigrant, I now pay taxes that help support tribal affairs.

the flip side also exists. my SSN was stolen at one point. it was being used by someone to get a job and pay taxes. that person was paying into the system, but they will never see any of the benefits because it wasnt under their SSN.

stopping immigration into the usa is like trying to stop teens from having sex. remember bush's huge abstinence push? what a gigantic failure that was. you arent going to stop illegal immigration. you might as well accept it and make them legal so they can start paying taxes and being productive members of society asap.

i have a real problem though, with immigrants who come to the usa and refuse to learn the languages and the customs. that is, just fucked up. they might as well stay home, imo.

I absolutely agree, unfortunately in this political system and the people involved it takes a "crisis" or political pandering such as passing as this bill (I support sb1070, I don't support this bill) to get something as simple as a simplification of the immigration process.

Yes what was done to the Indians was not cool, in anytime when looked back upon with glasses of modern life and idealism. But did you forget that the Indians were killing torturing and waring with settlers, Not mention with other rival tribes for centuries. they were just as barbarous as the whites were during that time, if not more so.

Somehow you have the idea we don't know how hard it is to become an American citizen....lol. It should be hard. Maybe not as tough as it is but if we made it easy then we might as well open the border even more.
