O gets a pass? Certainly not, but neither does he exactly deserve the label of socialist any more than any other president in recent US history.

Interesting, if misguided leaps of logic.

It does NOT alarm the shit out me because the US is NOT the size of Montana, with 63 million people living in it. Out of those, nearly 500,000 of the youngest, most impressionable men were in the Wehrmacht. The population of the US is virtually uncontrollable even in the biggest cities, except through media, which is easy enough to turn off.

Our leaders have been trying to find ways to control the population for decades. The problem is America's diversity, which has prevented any particular philosophy from gaining too much ground. But look at the GOP's message these days: they've aligned themselves with the Religious Right and continue to attempt to legislate their brand of morality. The message has narrowed to "be afraid of the other". The other being rather loosely defined. It might be gay people one week, or immigrants another, or anyone with a non-Christian religious preference, and the pundits echo these "threats" ad infinitum.

And please- what "progressive rhetoric"? Progressive as in far left liberal? Nah....my friends think of me as very conservative in a lot of ways, but not a religious conservative which is a whole 'nuther animal.

Hey, let me know when O starts a few wars for faked reasons, kills many thousands of non-combatant civilians and seriously weakens the American military by running it into the ground. When that happens, I'll happily stand up with an "Obama is a War Criminal" sign. Mkay?

And saying Palin is a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffles is misogynist? Dude, even if she was a man, he'd still be a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffles as in Can't Understand Normal Thinking.

Since when is it wrong to point out the truth.

will agree with you on this to a point, the US had a more reliable jet engine developed that was ready for combat just 2 or 3 months after V.E. day. If things had gone just a little different then a US/German Air to Air would have kicked off the Jet age at the close of WWII rather USA/Russian Proxy war in Korea

Nice try, but changing the subject with false accusations about Bush and Palin doesn't work on rational, thinking people.

Facts are, the left engaged in far more egregious behavior, the MSM even creating a "documentary" of Bush's assassination and the media pretty much ignored it while many on the left cheered it and even gave the film a few awards.

The left is full of hypocrites, media included and I provided numerous examples of how completely unhinged many on the left are, yet they MSM and fellow lefty's like yourself are dismissive of such behavior.

You can't excuse, defend or otherwise come up with a valid rebuttal, so you make up some BS about how Bush started a war for "fake" reasons, forgetting that it was the Senate that overwhelmingly voted to go to war.

And do I have to post the numerous quotes from high-ranking Dems stating we need to disarm Hussein/Iraq?

A little history lesson for our lefty friends:

"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line." --President Bill Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998

"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program." --President Bill Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998

"Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face." --Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998
"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983." --Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998

"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs." Letter to President Clinton, signed by: -- Democratic Senators Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and others, Oct. 9, 1998

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process." -Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998

"Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies." -- Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999

"There is no doubt that ... Saddam Hussein has reinvigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear programs continue apace and may be back to pre-Gulf War status. In addition, Saddam continues to redefine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten the United States and our allies." Letter to President Bush, Signed by: -- Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), and others, Dec 5, 2001

"We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandate of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and th! e means of delivering them." -- Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country." -- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power." -- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002
"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction." -- Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002

"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..." -- Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force -- if necessary -- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security." -- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002

"There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years ... We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction." -- Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002

"He has systematically violated, over the course of the past 11 years, every significant UN resolution that has demanded that he disarm and destroy his chemical and biological weapons, and any nuclear capacity. This he has refused to do" -- Rep. Henry Waxman (D, CA), Oct. 10, 2002

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons." -- Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

"We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction." -- Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), Dec. 8, 2002
"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real..." -- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003

Oh, but Bush "lied us into war" right?
Can't you guys come up with something better than an easily debunked lie?

Again, you can't defend the utter, blatant hypocrisy and immature behavior of your own, so you throw out red-herrings and straw men arguments in a pathetic attempt to excuse the unhinged lefties in the pics I posted and in the links I posted.

Every now and then, the left shows their ugly, true colors and they can't hide from their own words and actions.

The left constantly proves that they are nothing but immature, verbal bomb-throwers without any solutions or any valid ideas, and they act like fools to boot.

You would fit right in with the people in the pics I posted.

Calling Bush "Hitler" was fine, yet if someone criticizes Obama, some on the left cry like little pussies - the NAACP being a perfect example.

Like I said, "Hope and Change" has become "Fear and Blame" because Obama isn't capable of governing.
He's doing what he always did - voting "Present" and getting a free ride because of his color.
Obama simply isn't qualified for the job of POTUS and has yet to prove any of his critics wrong.

The double-standards by the left are simply amazing.

They wish death on elected officials they disagree with, yet they demand civility when their guy is in office.

                    Fuck them.

I'm done with being civil with these psychopaths, which is what they basically are.

They are so filled with hate and venom and wish death upon those that are not like-minded.

The Hitler comparisions are in fact valid, as many on the left engage in similar behavior - wishing death upon those that disagree with their agenda.

BTW, Obama polled at 44% job approval in today's Gallup poll and will likely be in the 30's by November.

Obama is worse than Carter, and anyone who voted for this charlatan needs to take a good look at themselves in the mirror.

You've been had by a slickster slinging vague promises of "hope and change"

                    Dumbasses.

Like I said, I'm done being civil with people who support people like Obama and wish death upon those that they disagree with.

                    Fuck them.

I don't need these idiots in my life, and trying to talk sense into them is useless.

If you voted Obama, please tattoo the word "Idiot" on your forehead in reverse so you are reminded of your stupidity for the rest of your life, and also so we can spot you before you open your mouths and start spewing your idiocy.

You forgot about the 500 tons of yellow cake Uranium:

Secret U.S. mission hauls uranium from Iraq

Last major stockpile from Saddam's nuclear efforts arrives in Canada

                        updated 7/5/2008 6:57:12 PM ET

The last major remnant of Saddam Hussein's nuclear program — a huge stockpile of concentrated natural uranium — reached a Canadian port Saturday to complete a secret U.S. operation that included a two-week airlift from Baghdad and a ship voyage crossing two oceans.

The removal of 550 metric tons of "yellowcake" — the seed material for higher-grade nuclear enrichment — was a significant step toward closing the books on Saddam's nuclear legacy.

The yellowcake that, according to the US Department of Defense article.....

....is not of direct use in a nuclear weapon. “It is a commodity that is traded routinely in the global nuclear energy sector,” he said. “It can be used as a feed material for nuclear weapons if a country has access to the necessary fuel technology.”

Pardon me if I don't panic. Besides, according to the article you yourself posted, it had been there stored in aging drums since at least 1991. "Israeli warplanes bombed a reactor project at the site in 1981. Later, U.N. inspectors documented and safeguarded the yellowcake". Why didn't anyone bother to remove it then? We knew where it was for almost 20 years!

                              And now this:

Tony Blair's government "intentionally and substantially" exaggerated assessments of Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction culminating in highly misleading statements about the threat that amounted to lies, the inquiry into the war in Iraq was told today.

                              Say it isn't so!

Maybe you'd enjoy this. Particularly the part where right after Bush finishes his "those WMD's gotta be somewhere" jokes, we see photos of caskets of soldiers who died for......?

E30, you are so completely partisan.....you sound like Boehner. You claim to be "rational" and "thinking", but you only appear to see Left and Right. One, or the other. One is inherently good, the other, inherently flawed. And that is a poor basis for understanding anything.

Oh, and that chart is a smoking turd. Drinking too much Frog-ade? It actually contends that between Russia, China and France those countries supplied, over a 30 year period, 82 times the amount of weaponry the US supplied to Iraq. That's a shitload of weaponry!

Do you recall how your dear Reagan took Iraq OFF the list of states who sponsor terrorism, and provided Iraq with anti-Iranian intel? It was 1981.

                              Or this?

A 1995 affidavit by former National Security Agency official Howard Teicher, obtained by the Post, claimed that the U.S. "actively supported the Iraqi war effort by supplying the Iraqis with billions of dollars of credits, by providing military intelligence and advice to the Iraqis, and by closely monitoring third country arms sales to Iraq to make sure Iraq had the military weaponry required."

Congressional investigations after the Gulf War revealed that the Commerce Department had licensed sales of biological agents, including anthrax, and insecticides, which could be used in chemical weapons, to Iraq.

But hey Mr. Cabrio, let's just leave the question of whether there were WMDs to the Republican Secretary of Defense under Bush. I give you Reagan's former Special Envoy to the Middle East in 83-84. This man was the most senior conduit for crucial American military intelligence, hardware and strategic advice to Saddam Hussein, then fighting Iran in the Iran–Iraq War. I give you Donald Rumsfeld:

"It appears there were not weapons of mass destruction there."

                              I guess we'll never really know.....will we?
