Right but that's just not reality. It's virtually impossible for someone to be 100% impartial. Why do you think affirmative action ever existed in the first place? That's pretty blatant racism right there yet the powers that be agreed it was necessary in an attempt to right the wrongs of the past. I don't think she or anyone should get a pass but fact of the matter is...she will. She should be removed from her position but probably won't. Of course you feel the way you do because you don't see how you have benefited from racism. Africans were enslaved, families torn apart, people bought and sold like cattle and finally after they were emancipated, subjected to racism and lynched just because of their color of skin. Think about that a second. Merely getting turned down for a loan or job opportunity is nothing compared to what they went through. Many people (perhaps not you) sympathize with this. Make no mistake, this country was founded on racism. I think it's comical, white people would be outraged just because they are getting a little taste of it now. It's not right, but neither was the enslavement of Africans, enslavement of Chinese to build railroads or the theft of Native American land, etc, etc, etc. I personally don't think anyone will truly "get past this" until we are all mixed into one ethnicity. Even then, we'll probably focus more on skinny vs fat, man vs woman, etc. It's just in our nature.

I think you're further missing the point that majority of the people in this country didn't do any of those things you've mentioned. there wasn't, isn't and never will be a justification for racism. Your last post is a 3 way teeter totter between being against racism, accepting it as nature, and being slightly racist.

It will always be our job to be the better people than our ancestors and that is why racial standards, on average, are on the incline. edit: probably more viable if talking about western and modern civilization.

Before you say anything about my skin color I will let you know that half my family was eradicated in WWII because they were thought to be less than vermin. I can assure you its not so much the case now.

You can see who the self assumed, underprivileged minorities are in this thread. Stop fucking bring it up, stop holding it over people who are at least two generations disassociated from it.

It's people trying to throw slavery in the faces of 20 something white males are the ones propagating the issue. Drop it. Stop using it to fire blanks over the bow of society, and try something else.

What is it that should be deducted by the clip? That she initially had a prejudice against a white farmer, with the clear intention to make his life difficult? Or that she then realized it was not white vs black, but rich vs poor? The lady complains the dude was patronizing here. I'm tripping on her lack of ethics, lack of work ethic, lack of common decency and failure as a person.

It's not rich vs. poor. It's following the guidelines, procedures and policies she promised to uphold when she accepted the job.

I just want to point out that most White-American's ancestry did not own negro slaves... Biggest influx of white population was in the late 19th and early 20th centuries from all over Europe, after slavery was abolished.

Just an FYI. I was forced to take African American Studies and that class was the most racist environment I've ever sat through.
