Help with a speech topic: "Welfare recipients need to be held more accountable"

There's a difference between welfare and unemployment.. Plenty of single mothers out there working full time at a dead-end job just to pay the bills and keep the kid fed. When you make blanket statements it's easy to lump them in with the total freeloaders who DO need to find a job, but the total freeloaders are in the minority of welfare recipients. Most of them are struggling lower class families who have jobs that simply don't pay enough.

Speaking of unemployment, my GF got her checks cut because they decided that they overpaid her. This is the third time.. missing bills she thought were going to get paid because they cannot get their shit straight. Last time they were trying to get money back.. seriously? How fucked up is that, you'd think with how bad Cleveland got hit this would be routine for them. Sorry I guess this is going OT. I think the point I meant to get to is that the people running these services probably aren't the most diligent.

I am all for food stamps when you just can't make and you are working a job. I don't think that we should have mothers or dads working 2.5 jobs to pay for basic necessities.
