Because that is where all the fucking muslims are in NYC. Every person I have asked how much time they have spent in the area ground zero area has not responded, if you dont know what you are talking about STFU
Maybe you don't fully understand why people are so upset about this and you should do some homework before engaging in insults and parroting Olbermann talking points.
There are plenty of places to build a Mosque in NYC
2.5 blocks from ground zero is not one of them.
It's a slap in the face.
Ask the family members of those that lost loved ones on 911.
Better yet, let the people of NYC decide.
Put it up for vote if necessary.
Would that be a reasonable option, or should anyone opposed just "STFU" and not voice their opinion?sigpic

And that's what happens when it goes back and forth so damned much. You are correct.
But no that's not what I meant. I meant families that can actually make a real family.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Or are you afraid of voter backlash?
I guess anyone who does not think like you is a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles and should STFU?
Ever think that you aren't always right and that a majority of people in California that voted on this issue don't agree with you?
Should they just STFU and put it on the backburner?
Like it or not, this will be an issue come November, no matter how much you want to put it on the backburner.
Why should it be swept under the rug?
The people voted and had their vote overturned and are rightfully unhappy about an activist judge overturning their vote.sigpic

No, it's a matter of reporting you. Although I don't usually go down to that level because I believe what I say and when someone has a problem with it, it's their own problem not mine. This is what's so (not) funny about the judges decision. He rightfully knows he's going against the voters. But what do you expect, he's a gay judge.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

BTW, who is funding the Mosque?
Do they have any ties to questionable groups?
Has this even been investigated or looked into?
Either way, it's a confrontational slap in the face to many who lost loved ones on 9-11-2001 and is a sensitive issue and should be (maturely) debated and the group or groups funding the project should be looked into to see if they are getting any "funny money" from radical Muslim organizations.
And I'm sure AQ isn't against building the Mosque in the shadows of the former Towers.
Let's get ALL the facts on the table and then let the people of NYC decide.
Edit:
Further research unveils some more facts:
"It is the Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf and his American Society for Muslim Advancement (ASMA), who, as a self-professed moderate Muslim, refuses to condemn Hamas.
Furthermore, his association has had significant connections to CAIR, which is the US representative of Hamas, and shared an office suite with them.
Rauf's Cordoba Initiative website also openly promotes Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR efforts and radical ideology."
These guys aren't exactly the Boy Scouts.
Their finances and their supporters should be thoroughly looked into.
Sadly, the media won't do it, but they'll dig up dirt on Americans like Joe the Plumber, smear and demonize him for asking Obama a non-softball question.Last edited by E30 Cabrio; 08-16-2010, 10:22 PM.sigpic

and fyi, the voting public split the vote closer than most car's weight distribution. it doesnt matter though. its a moot point. minorities must be protected from discriminatory majorities.Originally posted by Kershaw View Postthat is the most ridiculous statement i have read all night.
