There are plenty of places to build a Mosque in NYC

2.5 blocks from ground zero is not one of them.

It's a slap in the face.

Ask the family members of those that lost loved ones on 911.

Better yet, let the people of NYC decide.

Put it up for vote if necessary.

Would that be a reasonable option, or should anyone opposed just "STFU" and not voice their opinion?
Big surprise for you here, I dont watch Olberman. another big surprise for you, This is a bigger story outside of NYC than it is in NYC. The other reality is this, anywhere you want to put a mosque in this country will get some sort of protest.

Just an FYI there are over 100 mosques in NYC servicing 600,000+ premenant resident muslims + the ones visiting NYC at any given time. That is basically 1 in 11 people in NYC are muslim when you include tourist.

But no that's not what I meant. I meant families that can actually make a real family.

What about all the male-female marriages where, for one reason or another, they are incapable of having a child? Are you saying they shouldn't be allowed to marry because they can't "actually make a family" either?

Of course, they are male and female.

For those of you still supporting building a Mosque in the shadows of the Twin Towers, read this:

Someone mentioned Olbermann in the thread and it got off track.

I mentioned that Olbermann had a meltdown on the 5th anniversary of 9-11 because Bush hadn't rebuilt the site, yet Olbermann supports building a Mosque in the shadows of the former Twin Towers, pointing out his utter hypocrisy.

Or maybe Olby thinks it's better to build a Mosque than to build nothing on/near the site.

when reading the context it does not sound like Feisal is making a demand, so much as expressing how to fix the problem at hand, it may work it may not. That is his opinon.
