The Israelis said the scanners are useless because you can overwhelm them with explosives. Scanners are pointless.

Just mold a fat suit out of explosive embedded something or other, and say goodbye to your airplane. That would net you a big enough hole to allow the air itself to shred the plane, if not destroy it entirely via the explosion alone.

Just found out something. The scanners are real good at finding things with sharp edges, but a large pancake shaped test mass of undi-bomber type explosives was impossible to detect! That's the whole ducking reason they'lhve rammed these things down our throats!!!

Mar1, we differ on many things, but on this, I think we could go for hours and hours over a few beers. Speaking of which, I'm going to go get drunk. This crap irritates me everytime I think about it. If some douche waffle strip searched my kiddo, I'd break him. I'm not a big guy even, but I would destroy him. I have no idea how a dad sat there and watched his boy get strip searched right out in the open like that. What in the fuck is this place coming too?

In summary, herd / mob mentality. When I'm told to leave a campus building by someone, I don't blindly comply, I demand a name and ID from the bugger. Same goes for when the Canadian Airport Police (or whatever they're called) asked if they could train their drug/money dogs next to me.

I got the distinct impression that had I said no, they wouldn't have started shouting "I'm god, I'm god" and arrested me. In fact, they were very polite.

I cant believe this but I actually agree with you.

I will say again though where I have issues with this shit, is the fact its the GOVT forcing this shit on us. If the airlines were to put this together as a contingent to getting on THEIR planes then I would not have as much of a problem with it. As it the rights of private industry to dictate what conditions you must meet to get on their property.

Or they could just turn the scanners up to '11', and look through you. Don't worry about dying from cancer, if you don't go through the scanner, you'll just disappear.

But seriously, if you think the terrorists aren't considering that as the next step, you've got to be kidding. They'd love nothing more than to hear whoopi goldberg proclaiming "people who don't graciously take a finger in the butt are terrorists."
