Fun week up twenty cents between filling my two cars. Filled one at $3.29 Tuesday and today it was $3.49 at same station and they hadn't raised the price yet like the the station 200 yards up the road.

But it's 3.49/3.59/3.69 here today with diesel at 4.03. Not gonna be a fun year that is for sure. At the jumps we have been seeing, I expect $5.00 by Labor day.

Exactly. Start bitching when you're paying $10/gallon.

Taxes in EU pay for health care and early retirement. Lived there know the deal. Look at all the foreigners with no jobs that collect from Gov't of Germany.

i was watching the news the other day and the reporter was talking about how the government blame the protesters in one of the country in the middle east for the increase in gas price but he quote that the US only import 2% of oil from that country. i'm going to start riding my bike to school.

America would roll to a halt long before gas got that expensive.

GM had the EV1 that did 100miles on a charge,137HP and weighed 2900 pounds. 0-50 in 6.3 sec, the Tesla can do 240 miles to a charge. my point is, I feel we have the technology and brain power to rid our selfs from the need of fossil fuels. but our profit driven system is holding us back from that progression. just as it is holding us back from the curing of "incurable disease" and providing food, cloths, shelter, education to every living person on this planet.
It still takes fossil fuels to produce the electricity. Battery technology hasn't reached the point where we can store mass amounts of wind generated power.

You're right, the summer of 2008 and $4 gas did not contribute at all.

Loving my Super-Eta, and will be converting it to an electric when "the shit hits the fan" (which it won't).

Also, I hate Slammin.E28guy and all the guys who think the liberals are out to steal their freedoms and elect Stalin as our next president.

The way our world works is that everyone freaks the fuck out when things aren't as fine and dandy as a minute ago, and we aren't doing well because there's less third world countries to rape up the ass.

So, because America is fucking awesome and our economy is based solely on creating great ideas, we find solutions to these problems. Like renewable energy or more efficient vehicles, which are making huge strides but going completely unnoticed.

This isn't the end of the world, unless the Apocalypse has occurred about 100 times already. We will get through this. Sure, some people will suffer and might even lose their houses, but most of us will just be paying more for gas until we stop buying SUVs and Hummers.

America was founded on revolutionary ideas and growth. How about we stop bickering and realize that no matter who you elect, it's not one man who is responsible for all the problems your country has encountered.

I'm not big on Obama, but I'm definitely opposed to some jackasses complaining about one administration over the other, because we all know that every politician is as responsible for what we have to go through as the average voter is.

And excuse me for bumping this thread more, but I had to say something because I'm tired of threads like this following the same pattern.

They don't pay that. 1.2x a liter x3.78 about 4.68EU is the gallon price. Remember they get payed in Euro not dollars. Now if you get payed buy a US company in us dollars and live on the economy in EU then that's painful.

Mike how much per the liter has fuel rose this week? Anything at all? Seeing nearly $0.30 a gallon in a 4 day span is a lot.

Four bucks a gallon caused airline traffic to go down, Food prices to jump up drastically, unemployment rates went up as well.

Edit: was just checking on prices in Germany 1.56/1.57/1.61 a liter then times 3.78 so 6.11 EU a gallon for premium, with socialized health care.

I never read anything about $3 gas this year being the end of the economy. What I read was that a barrel of oil getting over $130 could be a tipping point and stop the minimal growth we are experiencing now.

I brought up 2008 because our economy is MUCH worse now and $5 gas or higher will put a serious dent in the economy.

I think it's something on the order of every 15 cent increase in a gallon of gas pulls approx $80million out of the economy, PER DAY.
