In Miami you can live your whole entire life and never speak a lick of English. Its also easy to get papers if you know the right channels. They tend to help their own. They sell Drivers Licenses, SS cards, and Green Cards though the system. Its stupid corrupt down here.

true story. It sucks that I know two languages but since my other language isnt spanish its looked at as if i dont even know anything other than english.. job market down here sucks too..unemployed for >3 months now. =/

It sucks that they hired all those people, but they followed procedure. Not their fault their middle managers can't catch all the fake docs.

However, our local sheriff says it's just this simple: in order to become a citizen, English must be spoken reasonably well. Can't speak English? He/she ain't a citizen. I am told it is easy to confirm immigrant worker status, so most illegals trying to get work try to appear as citizens who "prefer" their mother tongue.

I don't see why it should be so hard to figure this out.
