Can our leaders be any more disconnected?

McCain apparently thinks we build iPods and iPads right here in the good ol' US.

I'd love to walk him through Walmart sometime. Think he'd be shocked at all the "American" brands that are "Made in China"?

Don't even get me started on how "under God" wasn't in the Pledge as originally written, unlike what Bachmann and Palin apparently think, and that our country's original motto was not "In God We Trust", as Boehner has stated, but "E Pluribus Unum", which means "from many, one".

That's the same Boehner that famously told a reporter that the inscription above the House Speaker's lectern has said "One Nation Under God" since the chamber was built in the 1800's, supposedly proving we are a Christian nation. Except it doesn't. And it has only said "In God We Trust" since 1954. That year coincides with the height of McCarthyism, and the need to ideologically separate ourselves from the "godless Communists".

And Dick Cheney famously stated that Osama Bin Laden had nothing to do with 9/11 in a 2007 interview. We all knew he meant Hussein, but he said Bin Laden. Does that mean he's an idiot, or just a tired human?

Those kinds of things are gaffes committed by over-scheduled, tired people.

But this kind of thing is not new to McCain. These questions were asked when he was running for President.

Q: “What about grants for sex education in the United States? Should they include instructions about using contraceptives? Or should it be Bush’s policy, which is just abstinence?”

Mr. McCain: (Long pause) “Ahhh. I think I support the president’s policy.”

Q: “So no contraception, no counseling on contraception. Just abstinence.

Do you think contraceptives help stop the spread of HIV?”

            Mr. McCain: (Long pause)
            “You’ve stumped me.”

Q: “I mean, I think you’d probably agree it probably does help stop it?”

Mr. McCain: (Laughs) “Are we on the Straight Talk express? I’m not informed enough on it. Let me find out. You know, I’m sure I’ve taken a position on it on the past. I have to find out what my position was. Brian, would you find out what my position is on contraception – I’m sure I’m opposed to government spending on it, I’m sure I support the president’s policies on it.”

            That's nutz.

I wouldn't consider myself a liberal by any stretch of the imagination.. but, before any canidates are even announced, or any primaries or polls, I already know who is getting my vote. These guys are just STUPID. :(

                      I like skeptics. Here:

On issues like abortion and sex education, the candidate is neither as moderate nor as principled as some might think.

                      And finally:

With Sen. John McCain aggressively courting supporters of Hillary Rodham Clinton, some of the most fervent of which are

Does anyone really care what this guy says anymore. He's already proven to change his views according to what he thinks will gain him votes. I hated Obama from the day I did enough research to find he wasn't presenting any real solutions, but I still refused to vote for McCain.
