    Remnant Church?

Not to step on any toes but does anyone here know anything about it, or better yet is anyone here a member? (shot in the dark but I figure what the hell) I'll save my opinions til I have some subscribers.

Here's their website just as a reference. Take your time, give it a good read.

Welcome to Remnant Fellowship Church, located in home settings and churches around the world. We are a growing community of worshipful, adoring believers of God and His Son, Jesus Christ. Find true answers for a renewed relationship with God!

Hmmm, I honestly did not read anywhere near everything on there.

tab 2 (Born again) was enough for me.

I did read a few paragraphs on tab 1 to confirm my suspicion.

I would not go near this "church" for anything.

This is just a tid-bit I took out of their "about us":

"People in the Remnant have been set free. Many were healed of sins and desires that they had been trapped in including overeating, alcoholism, gambling, drugs, sexual sins, greed for money, and the list goes on and on. As a result of being set free, our health is better – it’s superior. Our marriages are strong. Our families are strong. Our children are growing up sound. Finances have been healed and people have, obviously in this place, been set free from depression. We’re actually a very ecstatic group."

As far as I understand, they are the remnants; they are the only Christians who are true and who know the TRUTH about God. IDK, it just struck me as strange when I found out about it. Very cult-like. But hey, in my opinion so are most organized religions.

It's not that I don't believe in God, I just don't think we should go to a big building and have to sit for an hour while someone "forgives" us for our weeks worth of sins like he has any authority to do so or like that activity has anything to do with us getting into heaven. I watch people put 100 dollar bills into that plate and I see these preachers making 6 figures and I feel like such a twat for allowing my parents to force me to go.

Anyway now that that rant is over, this church does seem a bit extreme to me. The woman that I guess founded the church went on some show to talk about extreme dieting. I think it all boiled down to, the urge to overeat comes from God . . . or maybe the devil . . who knows. Either way, hunger is a "greater power" reeling us into the evil that is eating.

Listen, if you don't like it, move on. It's really fucking simple. Your stand point and soap box you continually get onto about "those people" is the EXACT same soap box used by the Religious types about how everyone that doesn't believe, feel, see, act, taste, smell, live the exact way they do then they are (wait for it...) ignorant, lost, stupid, dumb, going to hell, sinners, liars, cheats, thieves...

                      See what I'm getting at?

Originally, it was proclaimed that God did not want places of worship built. I would assume its for these very reasons that have been mentioned above ^. I talk to God and pray every day, but I don't go to church. The same people who were just in church are the same ones cursing each other out not even 10 minutes later in the parking lot. The thing is, people are afraid of death. They look for light. If there's a group claiming you'll have a wonderful afterlife, yadda yadda, people who are religious and want belonging cling to these groups. Unfortunately they become warped by the church and the church's beliefs. It's a power trip through "God" if you really think about it.

What about those who cannot access a church? I think having a relationship with God/Jesus and following the word is more important than just showing up to church. That's just my take on it though, no intended offense to anyone who does attend church.

If you can, you should. I wouldn't expect to find a perfect church, but there are some that will align with your beliefs / expectations.

                              No offense taken ;)
