There is no attempt to put an access box on a single family home.
    +1.

This is only commercial property, i.e. a landlord already has a set of master keys to your place.

They have fire control rooms (with keys in them already) at commercial properties in some areas. See the signs in some states for strip malls and such.

If lightning started a fire in a vacant unit, or someone forgot their oven/toaster on and left for vacation and I was their neighbor, I'd want fire to be able to put it out if I smelt smoke... not wait for the landlord to get there or just have the whole place go up.

If you leave your coffee pot on or don't clean your lint trap, and SFH goes up, it's your own damned fault. And no one is trying to get master keys to your place.

I told him that his bullshit was not going to work. I knew he was fishing for data to search for potential warrants, or probation/parole, so he could continue searching. Then he got pissed and I told him to call in a superior. Then he began backtracking when I brought up the noise ordinance he was trying to utilize was for 10PM to 6AM, and it was about 1130AM.

      He promptly left.

And pulled me over two days later and detained me for over an hour. Ran my info, saw I was an upstanding citizen. Then gave me a ticket for 57 in a 55. And never showed up in court to face the judge. It was dropped.
So a cop was an asshole, and then you were difficult in return, and he continued to be an even bigger asshole. And then the system made sure that nothing happened to you but a bit of inconvenience.

I think it's good you knew your rights and stood your ground - hell, I wouldn't care if you took it further with a complaint. But as for this anecdote being a reason to rail against the system (more specifically, the law in this discussion), well, I just don't see it as one.

In conclusion: motherfuck a dog who barks all night. I thought you lived in the boonies - who complained?

        ^^^^

The law in discussion here is only a few very small steps away from the cops having access to a key to come in and do what ever they want. Since a crime was in progress, they didnt need a warrant or probable cause.

This law in discussion here, is a precedent and ripe for abuse of the system and blatant violations of the 4th.

I would sooner have to fix a 200 dollar door on my home where the tools kick it in when I am not home, than to give the govt easy access to my PRIVATE PROPERTY!!!! Its not much of a leap to assume that since this shit works so well for muilti dwelling structures that it should be great for single family as well after all its to protect us from our selves and its for the Children right ?????

I'm under the impression he either jumped the locked driveway gate(4ft. tall), or he walked past the no trespassing and private drive signs and went through the stock gate, unlocked, but a secondary fenced area on my property. Either way, locked gate or no trespassing sign, he overstepped boundaries he did not have a legal right to do so upon, and abused the fact that he wears a badge and assumes its a skeleton key.

And no one complained, he said he was on routine patrol and a crime was being commited. He never acknowledged that the 'crime' he perceived was my large 'guard' dogs barking at a random car making lots of noise parked at the gate they are charged with watching, or some random man they have never been introduced to, dressed in black encroaching on their property.
