If anything is a gateway drug to meth and coke and other uppers and downers, its the bullshit we feed our children from the get go. Our future is grim if we keep raising our population this way, which will effect EVERYTHING..... See below. I feel like this topic is still relevant considering we're talking about our future and what a possible future president should stand for to represent the big changes coming...
Dude, bro... thinking like that would mean we ought to teach how to wrap your tool (or avoid walking cold sores) instead of just preaching abstinence!

And what's with these German kids? They are exposed to beer as soon as they can look over a counter and they aren't binge drinking or dying at first introduction of it, or at least ready available of it in college. What up with that??

Is "2.7 and good attendance" what people believe deserve a job without any effort as a trophy?

No industry needs graduates? What about Nursing? Healthcare? Computer/IT? Engineering? Accounting? Agriculture? Science? Education?

What you do see is a LOT of humanities/liberal arts, art, recreation/tourism, and social science unemployment. Is it that shocking that these non-technical majors have more trouble finding jobs than the others mentioned?

It's just like kids going out-of-state or to some of the most expensive private schools in the nation, and then complaining about student loans... what did they expect? I had friends from in-state working the food court while studying and majoring in something with high probability of good job placement and salary, and guess what? They aren't asking for a bailout.

A friend just moved in with me from Philly/NYC/Jersey. Hes on this forum. His brother is an active OG on here. He has a bachelors from Drew and excellent work experience. Moved here to find a job. Over a month later, no job. Hardly any luck. 1 of many I know or have known with this problem. I also know many people with bullshit degrees like you speak of, and they have a job. Some dont though, like you said, if you work hard enough for it, you can have it. You still cant pidgeon hole an entire generation with what you're saying though. Sounds good when you're reading it, but just doesn't really reflect across the board in reality like you say.

Why wouldnt you teach safe sex? Good luck telling a horny 15 year old to not fuck. Thats been working GREAT so far! Right?!

Dude, Europeans are a fine example of this thinking. They realized long ago that over regulating peoples desires just makes them want to do it even more.
Why not tell a young person "Look, you can do this, but here are the consequences mentally and socially. If you get out of hand, you will face said consequences." Works fucking great, too. I befriended several 18-22 year old girls while spending time in Europe. I asked questions, trust me! These kids are far more responsible and goal driven than myself or anyone else I knew at that age. This type of thinking spills over in life in so many ways you're not taking into account.

A few outliers != a generation lied to either about college being the stepping stone to a good career path. Focusing on some unfortunate stories and sensationalizing it to seem like a horrible, awful trend is misleading when the vast majority do graduate and find jobs.

JUST like the media promoting the misconception of manufacturing being dead in the US.

Absolutely. In complete agreement. Having French friends in HS let me get their perspective on how stupid many things we do are. It's silly to believe in social conservatism regulating what people choose to do, especially if based on religion you want to oppress them with. Living in the UK, people believe in a lot more liberty in their private lives and people didn't interrupt into your business as much as people and politicians want to do here.

That also puts you in the Top 6% of households in the US (at the very least)... so maybe you're an outlier? The vast majority of Americans still pay a lower tax rate than Mitt's capital gains capped income. (Because even in the 25% marginal tax bracket, average rates are much lower)

The  Difference Between Average and Marginal Taxes U.S. average tax rates are at historical lows.  Yes, that’s right. Our taxes aren’t “high”, despite the Tea Party’s …

The average family pays approximately 5% of gross income as U.S federal income tax.

So the millionaires, the folks with incomes over $1 million only pay an average rate of approx. 22%.
