how noble of you to be so concerned for their long term success that you would deny them a boom cycle for their businesses, for their own good

XL would have created more full time permanent jobs than BNR will add and keep to truck/train would train oil.

pipelines are maintained, repaired, inspected, etc., all the time, as well as terminal workers, sub's engineers etc.

also, I think you are underestimating the time to construct, it isn't like it will be done in a year... and the small businesses that are going out of business now along the route would suffer by having the largest ever return in their existence for a year or so, and THEN probably go out of business? idk what to say to that...

It's not about nobility it's about what would have a greater net economic impact, doing this project in a recession which has shown to create boom bust businesses which would put us back where we are or do this project when the economy has recovered.

I BUILD THESE KINDA PIPELINES Main line will be welded out in less than 8 months. its not like they start at 1 end and work to the other. They will break it up into at least 12 sections called spreads, and from the time they start actual survey of the ROW (after they have bought it all) till there is oil flowing though it will be less than 12 months if they all get started at about the same time, and there are no major snags along the way. This assumes they will want to spend the coin to do it all in one shot. Even if they break it into 2 years workers in mass will not be in one area for much more than a year. Those that will be there earlier and the last to go, are just hand full compared to full swing construction.

Kinder Moragan Built the REX in 22 months from Opal Hub in WY to eastern OH, (17xx miles IIRC) they broke it up into 2 working seasons to keep the bills down. We built the western 1/2 the 1st year and the eastern 1/2 the 2ed.

E30- You assuming that all those business are struggling now. In many of those remote area's they are doing just fine as they have no competition, and a captive clientele so too speak.

Boom and bust is the natural rhythm of things, we are stuck in this trough thanks the to govt interfering trying to keep them from happening

            Rabble rabble rabble ;)

Someone has to disagree with your logical statements I guess I'll troll along it was my time. I do hope they build this pipeline though.

Are these pipelines buried like kindermorgans fuel lines on up land? How safe are these pipelines from leaking?

well, if you dont have a Wiebo Ludwig http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiebo_Ludwig around, pretty safe if they are maintained.

As for Mr Sleeve; I guess my point is that these jobs really 'just a super quick, hit-and-run type of thing, and to deny the positive impact of them no matter what the duration is a silly thing.

              cheers
