Is there a god?

Surprisingly there doesn't seem to be a thread dedicated specifically to theism vs. atheism. It's a pretty straightforward question, do you think there is a god and why or why not? This thread can also be used to bring up questions about evolution and the big bang. With the approval of a moderator I would like for this the official thread for discussing the above topics.


On to the topic, I'm an atheist. There simply isn't any evidence for a god and arguments for theism are centered entirely around appeals to ignorance.

The internet is huge. Google your question and entertain yourself on a forum that already discussed this. The same argument/shitstorm that will happen here has already happened there. I don't think you realize just how pointless one of these threads is. Nobody wins, nobody's mind is changed, all you get is one side screaming "IT MAKES NO SENSE" while the other side yells back "WE DONT CARE, SCREW OFF ASSHOLE"

There is no proof that there is, and there is no proof that there is not. At the end of the day its what you believe. I believe there is a incomprehensible force that "created" all life in the universe, but to call it a "god" is only something we as humans name it in order to comprehend it.
