yes, its all about you and what you think is okay. even when thats a moving target. no id or ego there at all, this is true humility.

yes again, although i dont think there is any mentioning of a questioning mind. so now you're off the hook to carry on anyway you see fit. brilliant circular reasoning. and lets not start questioning ourselves. hey if god doesnt like it let him go bother someone/something else he created. you dont have time for his little stupid games, you got real shit to do.

It also goes by the morals inflicted by my uprising and my parents, some people don't have that opportunity so they look to religion for guidance. I can't answer where I would be, who knows...
The bible condones genocide, slavery, and numerous other horrible acts. Sure, there are a few good morals to live by, but it would be ridiculous to assert that those couldn't be reasoned without the bible.

    good luck with that.
Are you going anywhere with this?

I'm not disputing, simply asking why you find it necessary or desirable to supposedly get your morality from religion when yours is likely no different than mine which I acquired through living in a society. I can't justify having a huge aspect of my life based on the unnecessary and have a hard time understanding why others do...which is why I ask.

Large numbers of non-theists live contributing and peaceful lives without any religion to guide them or set moral standards. Why is it needed for you and not me? A foundation isn't of much use if it doesn't provide anything extra.

.....I'm a Catholic. I find it to be a good foundation of morals for any human being-that applies to most religions. I went to a Catholic school for 12 years, studied it, have my agreements and objections. I see it as a guideline of living a good life, do I follow and take each word literally? In no way at all. I do drugs, party, swear, have casual sex, but at the end of the day I still consider myself to be a good Catholic. I don't believe every "rule" needs to be followed, I see them more as guidelines.
........Am I sorry for the things I do? Most of the time no, however the bible wasn't meant to be taken literally. I absolutely hate people who go overboard with this shit in their word for word followings. I accept controversial topics such as homosexuality, and believe even they can lead strong, moral lives in God's eyes. I don't go to church every Sunday, but I do take my time to pray to God, and my deceased relatives. It gives me a chance to clear my mind, and have a peaceful experience one on one in my mind and to feel a connection with a supreme being. Church is a very humbling and relaxing environment, I make sure to attend all the major holidays such as Christmas, etc and I always find it to be fulfilling.
......Do I believe God exist, YES. Do I believe Jesus was the son of God, YES. Do I believe in creationism, NO. Do I believe Jesus performed miracles, not really. I'm a down to earth person, I believe in science and what we can prove, does this make me a bad Catholic? I don't think so
