I have recently done some extra research in my spare time when reading the most recent religious thread "Is there a God". Knowing that that cannot be answered I switched to the messiahs of organized religion, Jesus Christ particularly. The majority of people, even Atheists, know the story of Jesus Christ, is it true or was it taken from several other religions throughout history? Here's my examples I stumbled upon.
Story of Horus (Egyptian God of the Sun)
Horus was born on December 25th 3000BC
Born of Virgin Isese Mary
Birth was accompied by a star in the East
Adored by 3 kings
teacher at 12
baptized/ministry at 30
12 disciples
performed miracles
"Lamb of God:/"The Light"
After being betrayed by Typhoon he was crucified, buried for 3 days and was resurrected.
Story of Attis of Phrygia
Born of Virgin Nana on December 25th 1200BC
Crucified
Placed in a Tomb for 3 days
Resurrected.
Story of Krishna of India
Born of the Virgin Devaki
Star in the East signalling his coming
Performed miracles with his disciples
Upon his death was resurrected
Story of Dionysus of Greece
Born of a Virgin
Born on December 25, 500 BC
Was a traveling teacher who performed miracles such as turning water into wine.
Entitled "King of Kings, God's Only Begotten Son, and the Alpha and Omega"
Upon his death he was resurrected
Mithra of Persia
Born of a Virgin December 25th 1200BC
12 disciples
performed miracles
Entombed for 3 days
Resurrected
"Sunday" is considered his worship day.
These aren't the only ones that match the same stories. Jesus Christ, the most recent and well known is among one of them. Would anybody like to enlighten me on these findings? Why has Christian based religions adopted these overly used stories?
Some references for cultural truth.
Horus
Attis
Dionysus

Now I want to get the facts straight that I am not advocating the belief that there was no Jesus Christ. I believe that he was a man but only just.
