Something is fishy about the new Bin Laden book

I haven't read the book, but it all just smells fishy to me. Security Clearances are a big deal and a loyal soldier, of which the Navy Seals are probably the best example, would take their secrets to the grave with them. He would know, and believe wholeheartedly, that leaking any information could put his fellow soldiers and country at risk. So why is this guy running his mouth? He even did an interview tonight on 60 minutes.

On top of that, it is all too convenient that the Bin Laden assassination is being brought back into the spot light in the final stretches of the Presidential election and on the heels of countless other leaks from the executive branch.

This whole thing is just too fishy for me, and all too political for something of this nature.

    It's infuriating.

I haven't given this any attention so thanks for posting this so I can. I do just want to stop by just to say though that I always found Bin Laden's assassination as a bit fishy. I mean almost every detail about it. Maybe I'm just being too stubborn in not accepting the official story  .

It hardly seems convenient for the Administration to have a different version of the story out there.

Guy is trying to make a buck to go along with his military pension.

The motivation doesn't seem that hard to find. For me anyway.

I am not trying to suggest it didn't happen. I am just saying that I think there are a lot of political motivations behind the book and the timing of it all. And I think it's wrong to politicize this considering the events leading up to it (9/11 and the wars in Iraq/Afghanistan) and the highly sensitive nature of some of the information that has been revealed.

wouldn't you like to know if your country was lying to you in regards to the killing of OBL?

Maybe he did it out of respect of those who died fighting to hunt down OBL.

And leaking classified information in the process?

according to his lawyer and the publisher, the confidentiality agreement that he was forced to sign has not been breached.

And leaking Classified Information is nothing new to the current administration.

Why is it so hard to believe that money corrupts absolutely. It's not about race or religion or gender or political party or national origin......etc. Every goverment structure known to mankind has been felled by the distance between the haves and have nots. The número uno corrupter from the cradle to the grave is money.

Giving away top secret info about a mission that already happened makes it rather hard for the enemy to prevent that mission from happening, unless they invent a time machine.

It would not be surprising at all if the details of the actual assassination were different than what was told to us. That happens all of the time and for good reasons. My father commanded a SEAL team in Panama back in the early 90's. He told me about what they did that was quite different than what you were told on TV. I never met a SEAL that was quite right in the head. Most I met are pretty quiet about their service. I think this guy may be an exception, in it for the money.

why would obama change the details of the op?
not saying he didn't or that the seal team author isn't telling the truth, i just don't see what there was to gain politically for the pres in changing the details?
