In proper context that sound bite is just as damning as Romney saying "I like being able to fire people." In other words, not damning at all. Stop getting mislead by the bullshit artists and use some critical thinking for a change.

        Check again.

These political Christians aren't MODEST Christians. They want to regulate things they've no business regulating. Like the uterus. They want to re-write history so that America was founded as a Christian Nation and will deny any writings of those Founders to the contrary. The GOP needs to wash its hands of these sordid ties to religious wish-thinkers and get on with business of running the country to the greater good of ALL Americans, not just their corporate and religious leash-holders.

Gays have always been in the military. The only thing that has changed is now they cannot be fired at whim for disclosing that fact, nor do they have to worry about fellow soldiers holding their secrets over their head under the threat of being fired for being gay.

          Your viewpoint is very myoptic.

Seriously?!? I love how people think Obama haters are Romney fans. I like to refer to them as Obmney. Wanna know why? Because this election will change nothing. Romney is a white Obama. Both parties are the same and wont deviate from the status quo. Its a duopoly. It gives the illussion of choice when in reality you are getting tag team gang banged by the same establishment. Watching the back and forth between Obama vs Romney camps would be hilarious if it wasnt so sad and pathetic. You think if Romney gets elected he will repeal Obamacare? Seriously? The American people had a real choice, a true constitutionalist who actually did what he said and didnt talk out if his ass. I honestly dont believe there will ever be a candidate even close to him ever again.

But take all this with a grain of salt from a country were our right wing party is left of Obama.

The thing about our politics is obvious, it is a broken system and people get to a point where they argue to argue. When you speak to anyone about anything even remotely political especially a figurehead so many people regurgitate what they've read or heard. I had to hear it on my first plane flight back home a few months ago. These two guys were being pretty loud about who they are voting for Romney vs Obama and both stating half truths or just nonsense. Worst of all they were directly in front of me and my earbuds weren't doing anything blocking out the noise. Did either of them change their views or get their points across? No. I'm surprised they were civil, a few instances made me think the back of the plane could hear them. I simply tried to rest and ignore them, at that point I had been on the plane for over nine hours.

When regular Joe's argue like this I think there isn't much hope for people to have intelligent debates about the ISSUES instead of the figureheads they dislike or rally behind.

Heeter, while I don't always agree with your views but I must say that your post was very well thought out and it's posts like yours and others in some of these topics that make me think more people want to help each other. Community is important. To collectively think about what is truly best for America instead of just arguing should be the goal. Your ending remarks about just getting along in simple terms wasn't something I'd think I read of yours but in a word. Dig.

LOL i was just sparking some hate because that usually gets people talking. Where as before they wouldnt appease the questions i had asked.

So, even though you say it is a battle of two evils, why would someone not want to elect a buisness man when our biggest problem to date is our budget and debt.

And i know how you can go off and say well this party did this in past. But, as i have been called closed minded, think that it just that in itself because you can not judge someone off others past. I do get that they may have the same views. But we need this budget to get in check and we all know, and i can say all confidently, that obama is not the man for the job. I am not saying i hate him. Just saying that he is not the one i think that we should trust to get the national debt in check.

And i guess i can see i got people talking.

Love him (Obama) or hate him; This man is NOT up to the job of the presidency. He is absolutely inept and inexperienced. He has no record of running, creating or managing anything substantial that you could point at before he became president. The presidency is a JOB you're hired to do, not flying around like a celebrity, appearing on shows hanging with jayzs/hollywood while Americans and Embassy is been attacked all over the world. He hasn't been seen at his security briefings for months now and he hasn't met with his job counsel for months either, but yea that is the republicans and bush's fault too.
Is he likable? Yes, but we don't need a likable guy in this dire time. If this is what we're reduced to, is to vote for a guy you like and could have a beer with rather than someone that has record of accomplishments and can get the job done for you, this is truly a country of stupid people.

Obama is a likeable guy. He has personality and seems like a great husband and father. The problem is with his job as president. He has made the country weaker with the way he represents us abroad, wasted money in a stimulus that has yet to show enough promise (IMO) and seems to have no interest in a balanced budget.

You can debate social issues all day, but the country is in a financial crisis. We can't keep piling the debt on and assume everything is alright and we cant keep blaming ever successful or wealthy person for the economic mess. The majority of the government budget goes to entitlements and what no one wants to talk about is that fact that we WILL have to reduce spending in the area (and possibly cut programs) in order to keep from being the next Greece.

In short, I think you are misguided. No one except the radical fringe (aka KKK and other loons) hate Obama. FOX news does not hate Obama. Using the word hate is a tactic that misguided people use to center the focus away from real issues. If you want to debate policy, there are many valid points on both sides, but if you want to act like anyone who disagrees with a policy is a racist, you are just plain wrong.
This. To hell with the social issues. The guy has zero experience in economics and is driving our country into the ground. We are spending money we don't have (or atleast not that we can back Ex: QE3) unemployment has consistently risen, our credit rating has been down graded, and now we have Obamacare which isn't "providing" healthcare for anyone but taxing those who do not have it. Plain and simple it doesn't make sense. That is why we need someone who is a business savvy leader and can turn this downturn around. Whether it be a democrat or a republican.

BTW we already completely ignored the most likable candidate from both wings, Ron Paul
