I don't vote. I am still a U.S. citizen but have been living here in Germany since the mid 90s.

I don't vote because I don't give a crap and honestly don't think it will change anything. Corrupt is corrupt.

Would you vote in Germany if you were a German citizen?

i do not vote because i am cut off from the world (dont watch tv or know what is going on) so its not a good decision for someone to vote if they have no idea what is going on. Also have pretty extreme views on things (should not be welfare, WIC, and other social programs) so they do not coincide with who is a candidate so i do not vote.

Well, at least not voting is better than voting blindly like iamcreepingdeath said he does. It's scary when people vote blindly without knowing anything or trying to even research a little.

              See below:

A commend you for doing so. I can't say the same about myself though. I don't participate in the local community politics because I can't stand it... and then we wonder why there are such douche bags in office.

Furthermore, I just don't feel as if either presidential candidate is suitable to run. If I were to pick the "lesser of the two evils" it would have to be Obama. I simply do not agree with Rommney's beliefs.

But as a citizen living in NY... a state that votes democrat every. single. time. my vote has very little sway. Having said that, if I lived in a swing state you bet I'd vote.

Even then, the electoral college makes the decision, the popular vote doesn't mean squat at the end of the day. The gov't didn't trust citizens when America was founded, and it STILL doesn't trust them.

I think that this whole voting for the president is more of a symbol of showing your support.

Local elections are more, eh, democratic than the presidential. Popular vote wins. Done. I don't believe in the electoral college, but it's what get's the POTUS elected, so nobody is going to do anything about it.

                      Sucks.

I vote because I'm voting for more than just elected officials. Plenty of things that affect how my state is run that I want a say on.

Also, I feel a bit of civic responsibility to put my opinion out there. People died to give me the privilege of having (somewhat) a say in how my country is run. Pretty sure I can spare the hour to make an informed decision and drop my ballot in the mail.

Seeing the voter turnout being less than half of my state's population makes me sad.

I have yet to vote at all.

I probably would have this time, but I failed to register to vote in the state of Alabama, so thats on my part. Shame on me.
But at the same time I feel like I dont know much about either canidate. I feel what I do know is influenced by my dad (passionate about politics) and that is Obama is an idiot. Not trying to start a fight, but thats what he believes. My point is that I dont think I should vote at all when I feel I dont know enough about either candidate. Voting for someone that some tells you to vote for is a dumb decision.
I don't even own this car anymore, but I'm too lazy to change the picture.

Well I agree with what appears to be the majority sediment in this thread, Neither Evil for me. ...So i still voted however, but for Gary Johnson. After all, here in colorado there is Amendment 64, and I had to show some support for that. Stoners do not beat their wives and kids, Stoners do not start bar fights, Stoners drive too slow or forget to leave the light when it turns green, not run over innocent pedestrians... treat MJ like Alcohol, it will generate tons of tax revenue, particularly from tourism to the state.
